Drop Shackles and Hangers ??

a friend of mine wants to lower his f150 (97-03 Bodystyle) he wants to know if any shackle could be combined with any hanger ?? also whats the lowest he could go without notching the truck ?? i told him 3/5 but I wasn't sure

as long as the shackle is designed for a 97-03 truck then yeah hes good. brands dont matter (i.e. belltech, ground force, etc.)

im pretty sure you can drop 5-6 inches without REQUIRING a in-frame notch but itll ride better with one
ill tell you this, i havent hit the bump stops once w/ 4" of drop

5" without a notch is max.

yeah he was going to buy some harley rims for $800 but they sold, so he's trying to put together a drop

so yes to any shackle can work with any hanger ?? to drop the front what does he need just the springs right ??

can a 2/4 drop from a reg cab be used to drop the extended cab

Yep yep. As long as it's for a 97-03 F150.

the guy he might buy from says its made by springtech and he wants $200 it comes with springs, shackles, hangers, and shocks is that a good deal ?

i doubt the shocks are worth a damn, i spent 120 on just my rear shocks :o

but you gotta start somewhere, and if he isnt too picky about having the best riding lowered truck he'll probably be just fine

okay so he is going to buy the kit this friday or saturday he just needs to know if for sure it'll fit the extended cab f150 w/the flareside bed even though the drop was on a reg cab w/the straight bed

Yes, the part of the suspension you will be messing with is the same on every 97-03 F150 no matter of cab or bed style.

i got my drop hangers off a supercrew.
