A proper introduction...

Hey all, I never really introduced myself. I just sort of started posting!

Let me start by saying this is a great forum. Far more street trucks then the other Ford truck forums. At least this site actually has a street section! Great site and so far great people!

I own a 2002 F150 XLT that I bought new back at the end of 2002. I added the Boss Motorsport wheels in the summer of 2003. I lowered it about a year later. I found the Harley lower valance while walking thru the woods near my house in back in 2007 and finally got around to installing it and the foglamps about 2 months later. It stayed in that state for almost two years. I never had the time to really work on it after taking a new job where the commute was an hour from home. By the time I had gotten off work I was too tired or ran out of time.

I recently painted the lower valance and bumper pad, removed the pinstripes, and door molding. I still plan of getting new wheels in Jan. and maybe a few other things here and there. I also plan on getting the truck repainted early next year as well. When it hits the paint booth I plan on installing the SS bed rails, SS mirrors and some sort of new hood. I haven't figured which style I want to use yet...it's in the works.

There you have it. This is a great site and I plan on being a regular member.

Here's my 02 for those who may not have seen it.

My short billet antenna I made after it got bent!

I'm still on the fence on the PTM grille surround. It'll all come down after I install the SS mirrors. I have a black grille surround hanging in the garage for just that reason.

I also agree on the 2" cowl hood. I looked at them at the Summit store up the street from me. I can get it for about $375 after I use a buddy of mine's discount!

Not entirely just luck I walked up on a Harley lower valance. The woods were behind a house of a guy that owned an F150 that lived before he moved out. He owned and regular cab 2000 F150 that he was supposedly fixing up. He was trying different valances and couldn't decide between the newer style HD valance or the 00-02 style valance. I never got to see the one he decided on because he and his wife split up and she let their two year old house get foreclosed on. We were headed back thru the woods that were behind their house and I basically stepped on the valance. He must have tossed it in the foot of the woods behind his house when he decided to use the other one??? So it was luck, luck that he threw it away in the woods vs. the dumpster, luck I found it before anyone else did. The house had been empty for over 7 months and at least 20 familes had looked at buying the house. So I suppose there was a little luck involved.

Not crazy, to each, his own. In my opinion the only other valance that comes close to the original HD valance is an STX valance.

Oh yeah...RTR!!!
