Shackles are only around 100 bucks to drop 2" in the rear and level out your ride. If you have a 4x4 it's free if you can just take out the blocks yourself.

REALLY easy. It's just a couple of bolts on each side. Jack it up and take the weight off the suspension, take off the wheels then take out the stock shackle and bolt up the new one.

My question is, i have a 1999 4x4 xlt, if i take the blocks out then is that going to make it look like the 2wd f150s? and how is that going to level with the front? Is there aditional hardware available to drop the front a little?

It should level out completely flat. I'm also pretty sure 2WD and 4WD trucks have pretty much the same stance. Don't quote me on it though.

You can buy some 1" or 2" drop springs for the front if you want to and get an alignment afterwards so you don't ruin your tires.

removing the block will get you to a 2wd stance, then a 2" drop shackle will get you level

I have a 2004 F150 4x4 and pulled out the blocks in the rear to level it this weekend... Wasn't as easy as that, the threads on the U-Bolts don't go up far enough to tighten the nuts back down all the way.

Where do I get shorter u-bolts?

You use the shorter Ubolts for a 4x2.
