What do you think of this bumper cover?

Soon I will be getting some goodies for my truck since my wife got in a fender bender. The damaged items are upper bumper cover, bumper, valance, and passenger fender.

What I am thinking about is maybe keeping my bumper, banging the bend out of it and getting a bumper cover. I am thinking of this one from DG Motorsports. It is plain and seems to flow with the lines of the truck well.

I was thinking of their roll pan as well. I hardly ever tow, and maybe I could do a hidden hitch later if I need to.

So, am I heading in the right direction? Feel free to give me some suggestions.

I'm not sure about the front cover either. Maybe it would be better than what I visualize. It would be clean, that's for sure. I definitely like the rear roll pan. But, no hitch would bother me. I don't tow a trailer often, but that when I need it, I need it.

You gonna stay all black or maybe dark metallic grey rally stripes?

it has its ups and downs. I'd rather have the one without the fogs. the opening needs to be reinforced with a hoop. i used stainless machine screws to attach it on the backside, and then painted them to match. the hoop keeps it from distorting and bending in. i would say only use it if you have a 3-3.5" drop up front (not sure what you;re running) any less of a drop i think it might look out of place. other than that, i'd say go for it.

Been thinking about it. With your headlights and grill, I think it will look very good.

I used to have that one when I got my truck, IMO my truck wasn't low enough at the time and didn't have the right look for it, and it doesn't hold up well when you mountain lions, I went through two of them before doing the roush front end, which prolly wouldn't hold up to a 160 pound animal either, heres some more perspective on what it looked like on my truck

and heres what it looked like just for giggles

So do any of you have or know of any other bumper ocvers? I was looking at the Saleen, but I'd have to do fender flares, which I don't care for.

Another thing I have to keep in mind is how low the cover is from the ground. There are those concrete parking lot curbs and speed bumps in the parking lot at work. The Saleen doesn't seem as low to the ground. I'm at a 2" by 4.5" static drop.

You might want to look into the new street scene valance, on the silver and blue truck. It has the depth of the DG, with the looks of the Saleen

You mean this one? I like it a lot, but I don't have fogs, it would look odd.

Adding fogs is a minor detail.
Here is what you need to think about;
1.Bumper covers(bc) are made based on the oem bumper being used as a support. So 04-05 bc fit 04-05 bumpers. 06-07 bc fit 06-07 bumpers.

2.Yes, anything can be modified to fit if you have the $$$$ and a skilled person to do it. But is the end result going to be worth the cost?

3. Dg bc requires that you cut the center out of your 05 bumper and use the ends as support. Great if you have a center damaged bumper

4. start with a cost of mod chart

Thanks Drew. I'm aware of all that. The cost involved is the main reason I am just weighing my options at this stage. That's what's good about these forums, like minded individuals can influence the decision making process.

The main thing I'm after right now is seeing what is available and at what cost.

yeah, drews got it right. if you had to have a shop mount that DG bumper, it may very well cost more than finding an OEM bumper with round fogs and using the SS cover.

Yeah, I've found on craigslist locally 2006 bumpers for cheap anyhow. I'm sure I could weazel the brackets into the mix too, making it a simple R/R operation. I like that SSGen2 bumper cover. Always have.
