The V-8 Trucks probably were not trying. As for ricey hondas, sure it's possible. But my sisters ex had a little 6 Cylinder F-150 and that thing wouldn't get up for anything.

 

V-8 owners usually laugh at V-6 owners.

Just raced a new toyota celica tl, ls, I don't know, something with an L in it. I hardly won but you know what they say. He had a manual trans, it was some guy and his gf, raced about 3 times before he gave up and turned off. What do these run the 1/4th in?

Edit (0-60's and 1/4th times)
Not sure if there is another "trim" for the Celica, so maybe it was a GTS.

 

Actually, the V-6 is only slacking by about 10-20 horses on the 4.6. If the 6 was a manual and 8 was an auto, wouldn't surprise me if the 6 didn't beat the 8...at least keep up. Sorry to say, I believe my 3.0 ranger (dead and gone) could keep up with my 4.6 stock.

 

There are a bunch of fast vehicles out there today. The Lighting isn't the be all end all. I wish it were!

 

I when to the track to try out my truck, 05 STX, 4.6L, cool air intake, exhaust and xcal 2 programer. I gat my azz handed to me by a honda hatch, mustang, Dodge Hemi, and my buddy in a 05 F-250. He ran a 14.7. I ran a 17.1 at 79 MPH. But on the street some hot chick in a civic was playing with me so i showed her what was up.

 

OUCH, all that money you are putting into it and all you get is a 17.1 out of it?

I ran consistant 16.7's with the same mods & 410's on my truck. Would have been 18+ w/o mods.

 

In the last month I have red light raced several trucks, and not lost once.
I still hav'nt been up against a bolt, but I can't wait to see what happens when I do. Last weekend I ate a Trans-Am and a (non-turbo) Supra.

I was stuck under the hood, instead of on the road. I have been busy with the #42 injectors, lightning maf, plugs, predator tuner, intake and guages... but its all coming together now, and I'm on the dyno next weekend to tweak it... I wasn't up for this, but he started it.
I pulled up to a light, and a nice late 90's mildly customized step side Chevy pulls up next to me and starts making noises, etc. I'm thinking to myself you can't do this with this truck right now - new s/c with canned tune - the new injectors, plugs, mass air and custom tunes are waiting on me to install. - kaboom

I let him go to make sure he was on it - he was - passed him in early second gear, 6 car lengths at 75 mph. He shrunk quickly in my rear view mirror after that.
The a/fs were not that bad - 12 to low 13.

 

I got spanked by a 5.6L Nissan Titan! I governed @ 100mph while he was sippin' on his drink, talkin' on his phone, but don't worry he didn't notice passing me!!! 'cause it happened so QUICK. please read my sig & give some advice on some upgrades. I know I won't ever be the quickest F150, but that sure as hell doesn't mean I have to be the slowest!!!
