Very basic - but need help
The component will lose low end without a deaden door, as in it'll be lacking some of its response. That's why I said deadening is needed to get all out of them. The tweeter would be on the other end of the spectrum with the high frequencies? Not sure why you tried to make it about the tweet.
I think he made it about the tweeter..b/c you made it about the component....doesnt matter if its a coaxial OR a component woofer in the door..it will sound 20 times better with damping the door. So if he doenst damp the door for the coaxials, then he doenst do it for the component woofer either...its the same thing...The component would be BETTER though since he can change the placement of the tweeter for a better sound stage, and well as utilize a better crossover from the component then the cap that comes with coaxials.
