Help Me Pick 1 of These Subs

I've got a 03 regular cab and buying a four channel amp and a 0.7 angled box.

Which one of these subs do you think would be a good choice with the amp rated at:

320W x 2ch @ 4 ohms
80W x 4 ch @ 4 ohms
160W x 4 ch @ 2 ohms

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/compa...button=Compare

I've got Kenwood full ranges in the doors and factory full ranges in the rear, Kenwood head unit.

Thanks!

Important to note that mounting depth on teh box you are looking at is 4.75".

That makes it difficult to find a good driver that is shallow. Of the 3 listed the Polk would be my choice, hands down. With that said, it has a depth of 5.5". You may want to find out if the depth for the box is listed as a top mounting depth, or depth inside the box.

My next idea would be to port an 8" sub, such as the JBL GTO 8. They are readily available for about 60 bucks. IIRC, they only need about .5 cubes net, so you may be able to make it work in that same truck box.

I would have to do some modeling at home, but with that being 20" wide, you should not have a problem getting a port in there.

I checked this site before ordering around before lunch today and didn't see your post before I ordered.

I went with the Fosgate for the very reason you mentioned in that the Polk wouldn't fit. The Fosgate mounting depth is 4 5/8 so I just squeeked by. Also, the Fosgate is for a sealed box between .5 & .85 cubic feet and the sealed box I ordered is .7.

Hopefully that sub will improve the sound quite a bit.

I went with the amp El Chupo recommeded: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...t+DSC+480.html

If I power the full range speakers and bridge the sub, how many watts RMS will go to the fronts and also the sub?

Just to verify: If I run everything at 4ohms, the balance would be 160 watts bridged mono to the sub, correct?

No idea where those numbers came from...

Power ratings:
* 4 ohms: 80 watts x 4 chan.
* 2 ohms: 160 watts x 4 chan.
* Bridged, 4 ohms: 320 watts x 2 chan.

So if you do 2 channels to the front then *up to 80w* to the front speakers, then channels 3/4 bridged down to 1 channel will give you 320w @4 ohm for the subwoofer.

Those numbers came from the website advertisement for the amp.

Wow, the sub is only rated at 150 Watts RMS.

Kinda reminds me of the quote from the train explosion scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid: "Ya think you used enough dynamite there Butch?"

I meant these numbers:

Doors speakers: 2ohm 320
4 ohm 160
The balance to the sub...
Those must be peak numbers. Ignore those.

Dont worry to much about ratings and such. Properly set up you will only use what you need.

According to the website, these are the RMS specs on the amp:

320W x 2ch @ 4 ohms
80W x 4 ch @ 4 ohms

The specs for the sub are 150 watts RMS.

The door speakers are rated at 80 watts RMS.
