The GTO8 is a sweet little driver for the price. Might not give you the SPL of the Sundowns, but they are well built drivers that sound great and 4 ported should still rock your socks.

Not sure how these model ported, but maybe worth looking at:

Also, did Jacob ever put the E8 v.2 into production? I remember seeing that they were supposed to have shorting rings and better soft parts for SQ.

not a huge fan of the ED stuff anymore, they had problems with spider tearing on a few models, but those tang bands are some beastly little subs from what i hear

What were you running? Sub(s), box size, tuning, port area and power?

I'm not too big on eD's new stuff either really, or eD in general... I'd run just about any of their ID or TC made drivers though.

The TBs plot out nicely! A very small box driver...

2 12" sundown SA12s with aluminum coils, about 5 cubic feet after displacement, with 20inches of port per cube tuned to 34hz on roughly 2500rms, they got nasty loud and low, and they put up to all that beating, the one thing i had a problem with was getting jacob to respond to my emails unless i put "URGENT!!" in the subject of the email, i shouldnt have to fake that to get a response out of someone when i am a paying customer

I love me some TC... nice little driver. Looks like a very small box driver... four of em plot out well in a 1.5 cube box @ 32hz. Port length is going to be crazy lol.

I loved the way my 2 10's sound ported. I've had 10's 12's and a 15 and my favorite setup to this day is still the 10's. I loved the lows of the 15 it would just beat extremely low and I had it in a sealed box so it did really good all around. I really want some JBL GTI's I just don't know what size I would go with. I thought I had settled and was just going to get 2 of the new BM's but I just don't think they'll have enough output for me. I got something in the works so we will see how it turns out. I am really wanting to get another 40 seat and take out my bench and just have two 40's and have a box go all the way under them and build an armrest between the two seats and then have the box go straight forward and flow thru to the dash. So sort of a T- shaped box that will give me all the airspace I need to accomplish my goal. It's either going to be 4 10's or 4 12's haven't decided yet. But lots of fiberglass! I Want it to look as stock as possible so that's what i'm going for. Should be an interesting build

OK, so I have a little bit of sticker shock at the moment... gonna cost roughly $700 for all four 8s. $200 for just shipping alone.

I may just run a pair of Blueprint Audio 10s (XBL2) ported for now and see how I like 'em.

Why wouldn't you just go with the sundown E8's? I mean theyre like $65 a piece. I saw a picture of the S8's and they are some beefy guys. Are you trying to keep this as an under the seat project? I have a suggestion you might like. As I was saying earlier, my ported D6 10's were my favorite setup of all times. No one believed me that they were just 10's and they were soo clean too by far one of the best sql subs out there especially for the money. I still have the box and you could easily just take off the bottom of your seats and put the box there and then put the seat cover back on top of the box. A guy at the shop where I got the box built had done that in his supercrew and you couldn't tell the difference. He even had a car seat back there for his little guy. The box is tuned to 32hz and was made by Mike Jones who currently holds the world record for most DB's hit. He did an amazing job on the box. It digs really deep and slams. But at the same time it sounded really good at moderate levels and very crisp and clean. Here's a pic of the box just to give you an idea of what i'm talking about.

Bottom View

Sitting on the ground(kinda dark I can take more if you're actually interested)

Side view just to show you how tall she is.

I would be re-using this box but I'm going in a different direction. But out of the 6 sub setups i've had this is still my all time favorite.
