hahah, they dont get low, they play the frequencies every subwoofer should play......guess that means that "mainstream brands" arent subwoofers then....just oversized mid's....hahaha
he's going to enjoy them, they are pretty awesome in all kinds of enclosures

Nice... I've been wanting to try something from Fi, but shipping kills up this way.

Have you thought about the IDQv3s? I've done a few installs with the ID series subs and recently put an IDQ12v2 in my GF's Jeep. Very clean subs.

I've no experience with RE's new stuff, but the loudest/lowest playing sealed sub I used was an SE12... pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum from the ID stuff.

What year was that Re sub? Ive read that the new RE audio drivers suck compared to how the were back in the day..

I've heard the same too. It was pre-US Amps buyout... probably '04.

I would take the w6's over the ssd's. Why not get the bl or btl's instead of their entry level driver? I'm tellin you man I was not impressed by my ssd's at all. My diamonds put them to shame in every aspect.

I agree. I was not impressed by the Fi subs I heard. Sure they make your eyes jiggle, but they sound like crap. If you are just out to go boom and get attention you'll like them, but for quality/clean reproduction of music I'd look elsewhere.

Idk what setup you listen to but these sound clean, i am very impressed with how they sound.

But now i have a issue, they may not fit down fire. they have a lot of xmax and i think they will smack the floor. I put my W6's in they sound good, but come very close to hitting the floor lol. They are right there with the SSD tho, its a different sound from the W6's to SSDs. Hard to explain. Still on the fence, my bro is gonna let me try them in my box so i will see if there is a difference or not.

Bingo... You would be down grading. I was not impressed at all by my ssd's. And they do have kind of a weird sound. My diamond's out performed them in every aspect and they were tens. They were way more accurate and even got lower and louder seeing less power. They could have taken it but I got two dual 2ohm subs and didn't want to run my amp at .5ohms. I did for a little while but I didn't want it to cut my amp life in half on such an expensive amp. Anyways back to the point. It's time to either go big or go home, and from all the conversations we have had and the threads I have read you need to go in a different direction. In order to get the kind of output you are looking for you can either do one of two things, but either way you're going to HAVE to get a bigger driver. You aren't going to be able to fit a driver capable of that kind of output under your seat even if you do have a lift. Your first option is to do a flow thru console box to fit the woofers, or a bed cut. Personally I have done the flow thru and I liked it but would rather go with a bed cut to maintain cabin space and keep a stock look. I was going to do a bed cut this time around and run 3 or 4 wgti's and I still might but I want to try the new bm's first. With the bed cut you get the best of both worlds. You wont be taking up any cabin space, it will look factory, and you can ditch the seat lift! Plus you can meet any airspace requirements and port it if you so choose. But seriously, in order to get the kind of sound/output you are looking for you are going to need a bigger driver that can produce it and a bigger enclosure. It sure as hell isn't going to fit under the seat either. Just something to consider. If it was me (and I could still be doing this) I would do the bed cut. That way you have no limitations anymore and your possibilities are endless. The guy that I have do a bunch of my stereo work has done tons of bed cuts on Leased trucks and puts the sheet metal right back. You could seriously never tell that it had been tampered with at all. Hope this gives you something to consider.

Sounds like you should go with a ported box... with 3 gross cubes to work with I bet you can get at least 2 ft^3 net, about perfect for a single 12.

Also I forgot to mention this. The listed mounting depth on FI's website for the SSD is not correct. It is a VERY deep driver, right at about 7 inches. The magnet is really fat too with that weird lip and they're pretty heavy. I had to run mine upfiring because of the mounting depth. I couldn't have ran them downfiring because there wasn't enough room for excursion due to the depth. They would have definitely hit the carpet. With the seat down the drivers still touched the seat. The only time I could push them was with the seat up which is very inconvenient.

I agree with these things 10000% and I've been telling the OP this for years it seems. (right Dino? ) Seriously, just do a bed cut with 2 ported 15s on 2-4k watts and you'll be doing ~150dB easily. I heard it in a F250 and I seriously couldn't sit in the truck, it was setting off alarms a block away. It also hit a 149.8 legal. Stop wasting money on under-seat setups that will net you no substantial gain...

Glad I am on the same page with someone here! But seriously Daniel its common sense at this point. You can put it in an upfiring, down firing, side firing, or whatever else you can come up with kind of box and it's still going to all be the same. You are working with a very limited space which means that you are restricted. In an unrestricted area the sky is the limit. You can put any driver you want in there and build a huge box. Sell your seat lift, dub sixes, and amp. That should give you a good amount to start with. Then go buy a chit ton of mat and do your bed and your whole interior! If you're gonna do it you might as well do it right. I'm surprised you haven't used any deadening thus far. Make sure that you get some great stuff and do your back wall plus A,B, & C pillars.
