best speakers for around $100 per pair??

I blew one of my stock rear speakers, now I have a reason to upgrade.

I have the stock base system in a 2006 F150, and would like to replace all 4 speakers.

What is the best speakers to replace mine with, that would work best with a stock head unit??? I'm looking at around $100 per pair to spend ($200 total for all 4 speakers).

THanks for any sugestions. :santa:

You can go with Infinity Kappas that sound great for 79 a pair. My friend owns a audio shop and tells me that those are the best for the money.

Check out Crutchfield. They have some pretty good offers going on both Infinity and Polk.

I am a fan of both. I had to put Infinitys n my G due to needing 2 ohms to match Bose amps. I had Polk in my previous car and reall like them. I will be getting one or the other when I upgrade my Expd speakers.

I have 4 Boston Acoustics S85's that I will sell you for $100. I bought them and only used them for about a month or two before buying an amp and new speakers. My truck only gets driven once a week for about an hour so they weren't used much, PM me.

Those look like the best performance for the $ so far. I also looked at polk DB571.

I looked at crutchfield for that speaker, crap crutchfiled is EXPENSIVE. They want $140 for that pair where I can get it for $79.

I also can get the Polk DB571's for $70 on Amazon, Crutchfield wants $100.

Hmmm, good website but they are pricey, just a heads up for anyone looking at their stuff.

i went with 2 pairs of MTX thunder 260s (i think it was the 260s) the 5x7/6x8s of course.

3 ways in all 4 spots. i dont use amps, just the power from my pioneer deck and they sound good. i bought 1 pair local for around 70, liked them so much i picked up another pair off ebay for 40ish.

I just ordered 2 sets of them for my truck last night and my friend lives by them. I have them in my car and sound great they make the infinity reference speakers sound like stock. If you go to best buy and listen to them they will blow your mind how good they are.

I have always had great luck with Crutchfield. You get any hardware or wiring hrnesses needd for the install, and great tech support if needed. I had a problem with a Crutchfield brand amp, about 2 months after teh warranty was up, I called to see about repair. They ended up sending me a brand new at no charge. I would rather spend a little extra and have great customer sevice, if I ever need it.

Sonic is the same way you can pay an extra 16 dollars and get the warranty. Over all I believe sonic has the best prices around.

if your not gonna amp them stay away from infinity kappas since they are 2ohm only (as far as i know at least)

id get the alpine type s or infinity refrence.. they are both a decent set of speakers for the price. But, id goto a bestbuy/audio shop and listen to them to make your decision
