3 way front with two pairs of tweeters? What frequency bandwiths are you running each set of tweeters? Without proper crossovers and time alignment you are going to get some nasty spikes and dips with 8 point sources installed in different locations and aiming different directions. I'd just stick with 2-way passive until you can afford the processing.

well its one step at a time. eventually i will get some kick panels. as far as settings, still undertermined. the truck is in the garage apart right now. looking at 24 db slope eq set to 10khz crossed at 2000hz. the mids i havnt found the butterzone yet for the range of music i play. i like alot of high range tweets along with the subs. ive never really liked midrange.

The PRS mids are exceptionally flat up to 2k. Above that they get a little off balance, but people have been amazed at the very little EQ (sometimes none!) needed in the 80-2000 range. That should help you a bit, it will be slightly different for each individual install/situation but its probably pretty close.

Actually both the SAE and SAX lines of Sundown are built in Korea...which would be the majority of their amplifiers. Still doesn't mean they are crap, because the new SAE 1200Dv.2 actually looks very promising. But don't knock something just because it ain't US built....

Keep in mind, there are many class D subwoofer amplifiers out there that will do exactly what the Sundown does for the same price or less.

well after thinking about it and listening to it for a while, im taking the planet audio back cause im not getting nearly the full power out of the W7. im trying to find an amp thats close to 1000watts rms at 3 ohms. right now its only getting about 330 (if im correct).

can yall explain this tweeters and speakers stuff that yall are talking about. im trying to learn everything about this stuff but dont know much about speakers. i have alpine 5x7s and there alright. ive heard tweeters are completely pointless unless you put them in the right spot and get the right ones.

Its okay. My new speakers aren't made in the US, and they aren't that crappy. Seas Lotus = made in Norway.

like i mentioned earlier in this thread, you need a good amp. that speaker likes about 600 watts. true watts. you can get a jl 500/1 amp for a decent price. that amp takes away the guess work and will last you a long time. if you have the money, the hd 750/1 is a perfect fit.

I would get a Zapco Reference (or DC Reference) 1100.1. It does 1100 at 2ohms, 820 at 4ohms. There is one on eBay right now for under $200 with 1 day left in bidding.

is your goal to get an amp that is rated at about 1000w rms @ 3 ohm? if so you will have to invest in some electrical upgrades

That's going a bit far... he doesnt need a new alt or battery, just needs to upgrade the big 3, he should be fine. If not, maybe a capacitor or even better, a second deep cycle battery near the amp.
