HELP needed choosing Subwoofer box

ok, I have a 2005 F-150 Supercab, and i already upgraded the Head unit with a AVIC-F700BT, door speakers with INFINITY Reference 6x8 Components (front), INFINITY 6x8 Coaxials (rear), now is time for the sub, but I want the best sounding unit for the money, as i'm not made out of MONEY...

ok, so.. I have found 5 different boxes that fit the F-150 and I will list them as follows

#1; JL Stealthbox w/Single 10" W3V2-4 ohm VENTED (expensive $700+)
#2; SuperCrewSound Sigle 10" ID10 (sub recomended by SCS) SEALED (300+ w/subs)
#3; SuperCrewSound Dual 10" ID10 (subs recomended by SCS) SEALED (450+ w/subs)
#4; FOX Acoustics Single 10" SEALED (recomend a sub) ($120 w/o subs)
#5; FOX Acoustics Dual 10" SEALED (recomend subs) ($150 w/o subs)
#6; MTX Thunderform Single 10" 4500 Series SEALED ($235 w/sub)

I want to run an ALPINE PDX-5 to power all my system, so what combination should sound the best, I do listen to HIP/HOP, RAP, R&B, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, most all types of music.

please tell me what is better and why is better, like the SoundCrew boxes, are they better than the FOX Acoustics? and why?

you mean boxes or subs?

i'm open for suggestions, but I want to keep it in the low price range, and I'm not looking into loosing the usability on the back seats.

i hear ya!

but you listed ID10s which are sq drivers and you said you listen to rap and hip hop which has little to no sq...

i would look into an incriminator auido 10" 187

ok, so this sub you recommend is better for the type of music i play? what is the recommended box volume, I can't seem to find it, and the FOX Box has a 1.3 cuft combined for the 2 10's... do you think this will be better? I seem to be reading on other threads that people combined the Soundcrews box with the JL 10W1V2 and got great results, what box do you think is better the Soundcrew or the FOX box? Soundcrew is a .60 cuft per sub, and the FOX is 1.3 non-divided, both sealed.

The fox box would be too small for 2 incriminator 187 10s, they require atleast .8cuft sealed... and i wouldnt go with jl 10w1s if you actually want to hear your bass

ok, so today i finally got the amp I want to use, a new SHINY ALPINE PDX-5, and the birth sheet reads: rated power 75w RMS per channel (x4) 300w RMS (Mono 5th channel) but the TEST results: Actual power RMS @ 4 Ohm 14.4v 0.001 THD 100W per channel (x4) & 438W (Mono 5th channel)

now this amp are 4/2Ohm same power Digital Class D, so if the RMS is 438w for the sub I should be able to drive almost any sub... right?

now the million dollar question, what sub/box?

i'm still leaning toward the JL Stealthbox, I now seen a used w/o sub, so I can load the box with any or the 10W3V3

Nice actual ratings on the birth sheet for the amp...... the Alpine PDX amps were my second choice to the JL Slash series amps.

The Stealthbox is really nice and sounds excellent. If you opt for the used unloaded stealthbox and you are wanting to put a 10W3V3 in it make sure it was the newest version that came loaded with a 10W3V3 and not the older version that was loaded with a 10W3V2. The 10W3V3 will not fit in the older stealthbox. I REALLY like my 13TW5 setup but it was a bit pricey...... cheapest I have seen it is ~$340. I got mine from Car Toys for $339.00 but it must have been a mistake in their system because as soon as I purchased it the price rose to about the same price as all the other authorized JL dealers.

the fox box and 2 10"w3v3 you will be extremely happy..... go to my profile plenty of pics of my install. or the stealthbox is nice. that probox with 8" looks cool, so no offense to the guy promoting it, i would be skeptical of 8" woofers. if you like rap those 8" woofers would be toast. those belong in kick panels..imho

yes, I'm too skeptical about the PROBOX, specially since the price is almost the same as a JL Stealthbox, and JL is a proven product, so for me to pay $599 for dual 8" setup, i would have to hear them first, and they would have to blow away the competition. but just because one guy says it sounds good, and he might be getting it for free, and no other dealers know about it either...
