not on a 36k sticker truck anyhow.besides if i were to pimp my ride, i would turn the bed into a box, and cut only port holes to the cab. and yes even that would be dumb

no seat lift needed, thats the great thing about that box. it fits nicely, its finished as if it were factory https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...o-install.html

i have the JL XR525-CXi in the rear and the XR525-CSi 2-Way in the front... no matter how loud you crank it, these handle ANY music with no distortion.. been in the truck 4 years and i've never had to touch them or replace them.

csi

cxi

all being pushed by this little amp

http://www.carsound.com/articles/pub...nter_268.shtml

if anything i HIGHLY recommend the amp.... i was my mids and highs along with a rockford 10" for awhile off of it with NO problems. this amp is a beast. i've burnt up several rockfords and a hifonic or two (yeah one or two was my fault on the ohm load i'll admit it) but for 4 years no problems with this one...

Hey boss entry level DD 10s can take double that supposed 1500 (assuming its even RMS). And there is no way in hell you are close to 155. Maybe if that were a pair of Z series 12s and 12 or 16 of those 1500 watt amps. I'm sure it is loud and DD is great stuff, but claims like that really destroy the integrity of car audio and build on boyz in the hood stereotypes (no pun intended).

I mean you started the thread claiming a W3 on "barely tapped" 250 watt JL amp was "just plain loud", then went on to extoll the virtues of prefab boxes. Not that he was right in telling you you're system is nothing, its just the two of you doing quite a bit of self promoting.

155 db's ???

Ya' know what, I wouldn't even make a claim like that, if I didn't have a photo of a digital term lab meter, hooked up to my vehicle, clearly showing 155 db's on it. Just too many people full of $#!+ out there, that even if that was the whole truth, and nothing but.....

That would be like me telling you my PB Largemouth was 18.4 lbs...... If you knew anything about bass fishing, or, how full of $#!+ a lot of fishermen are, you'd be saying.... Dude, whatever. And then I'd say, "Oh, here you go"
http://www.trophybassonly.com/id154.htm

My system slams pretty good with two 12"s and 700 watts, yet I bet it barely hits 130 db's. But I wouldn't really know unless I put it on a term lab....

Peace,
Fish

BTW, I've been following Steve Meade's Escalade build for quite a while. It has eight, pro series 18"s and 30,000 watts of power.... yes 8, 18"s and 30Kwt's, and it was 'only' hitting 155db's for quite a while. Now that he has it dialed in, it's finally cracking 160 db's.... but this is just to give you an idea of what 155db's really takes. Oh, the price tag on that system is in the neighborhood of $200,000.
Granted, this system was setup to play music, with lots of mids + highs too.... Not just a 160 db fart-box, which would be a lot cheaper / easier.

Foxbox or Stealthbox?

@JJDH & everyone else who has a foxbox and Jl 10" bass speakers in 2004+ f-150.

I am considering that setup. I'm wondering if you guys are getting the full range of bass. Can you notice a wide range of bass tones including deep base? Or is it like my current setup where the bass only has one tone threw out the song, and some bass notes are literally missing due to the sealed box and speaker combo? I know you guys have awesome setups.

My sub setup is a basic ebay custom box with 2 Kenwood shallow 10's. I tell yea, this combo truly sucks! Rap sounds good, but heavy metal with a wide range of bass proves that I made a horrible choice.

Am I better off with a Foxbox or a Stealthbox if money doesn't really matter? I'm looking for deep bass while still hearing all of the drums and bass guitar. I did lift the back seat up with the 4" kit. The amp I'm using is a Audison LRX5.1k.

well if you lifted the seat 4", you have every option needed. you could put a ported box with some high end subs, obviously your amp is just fine. To answer your question the subs i have seem to hit all ends of the spectrum. with a Q of about 1, they arent even muddy at the lowest of lows. I cut em off at 80hz. They will do fine at 100hz, I let the mids do that. To answer your question the foxbox isnt an ordinary pre fab. They dont make these by the thousands, they are excellent quality. ditch the kenwoods
