So JJDH are powering both subs with a single JL 500/1?

psssshhhh. nothing. sorry but i promise this system has nothing on my friends S10. he has a cut through with a custom ported box with 2 Digital Design 12's running a 1500 watt amp. pushes 155 db's. run all the electrical with 0 Gauge wiring. had to rewire the alternator to power the system first then the truck. lol. its awesome.

Why even bring that up? totally off topic and btw i would rather drive a stock f-150 than a decked out s-10 anyday. ur friend needs to sell that system and get a real truck..

and we cant fit that ***** under the seats so there is no point in posting that. looks like ur tryin to be a **** to me

JJDH, I see you're running two of these. I've been looking into doing my system hopefully before summer is out, and I've heard nothing but great things about JL's products.

I went to a local shop and was looking at a 10W1. I don't wanna go crazy off-the-wall with my system, but I want some thump and something that sounds clean; and I'm afraid the W1 may not be loud enough. If I run a single 10W3, do you think it'll hit pretty hard and sound clean without being overpowering?

And also are there any mounting depth issues with these? I have an 04 [non-heritage] SCab. Do you think there would be any problems with the subs not having enough room to fire?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm relatively new to audio systems and whatnot. Thanks man.

with the fox box there are zero issues with room for the subs. they wont fit in the more economical boxes. the excursion and all are just right. i put the grills on mine so there are no issues with the subs excursion hitting the floor.. if u do one, try to do a ported box. the stealthbox is fitted with the w3 already, it just costs an arm and leg. one ported will equal two sealed. in all reality one ported may be better than two sealed, that way u can use the sub to its full potential. i am runnin two, they sound great, get very loud, and are smooth. no distortion. i do know that in a bigger box they would be louder, which would be extreme. the two in the truck now, i must admit i keep em low because thay can overpower my mids and highs. i am dealing with that dillema now. i am getting ready to add some 3" coaxes to my door pillars to have more highs, to keep up with the bass,so it is more balanced

Blowthroughs are ridiculous anyway IMO. Cutting a hole in your damn cab because you want to have the loudest system in town.. I don't get it.

So if I were to go with a Fox Box, I wouldn't need to put spacers or anything to raise the rear seat?

And I am trying to kind of stay clear of a Stealthbox since they are so expensive, because I'm also looking to upgrade my headunit, and soon after that replace my speakers and maybe add some tweeters.
