That's true, but the Pioneer shallows still suck - they just might suck less in the right enclosure.

The Premier SPL models are actually incredibly overrated. The guys at ROE tested it during the great 12" challenge and couldn't even give it recommended RMS without it reaching thermal and mechanical limits.

Alright then the only one I've ever seen in action was on double the rated power at 30 Hz. But that sounds in line with Pioneer products. I don't get how you can make such great HUs and everything else is so terrible.

I think they are worth the time and money. If you can find a good deal on something that saves you space and accomplishes what your looking for, why wouldnt it be? I was able to find a really good deal on my TW5 and I have a kicker amp that pushes it along with all my speakers. I did not loose any of my seating area and it sounds awesome!

You really think those Pioneers are good subwoofers? LOL.

So Rolltide, what does the rest of your system compose of? Amps, speakers, HU etc. And who installed it?

I have to disagree Low . Adam is a longtime friend of mine , a longtime audio competitor and is in the same car club with me . In the last 15 years we have done many Iasca , Usaci and Meca shows, all over the US . He used to compete with a Grand Am but now does so with a Grand Prix GT . His system is (Totally) Pioneer Premier . He has won numerous national SQ events as well as competed in a few finals . His vehicle is hands down one of the finest sounding vehicles you will hear ,period . I have included a couple pics of his old Grand Am . His new install in his Grand Prix is much nicer .

I have 2 pioneer premiere shallow mount sub woofers under the back seat of my super crew. Powering those i have a 750.1 kicker mono amp (mounted under passenger seat), I have 4 Alpine spr-57c door speakers powered by a Alpine pdx-4.100 multichannel amp under the drivers seat. And for the head unit i have a avh-p4000 dvd head unit. And who installed it???? I did.... i am 17 i mean for a low budget i did my best so you can tear into me all you want. The 3 car shops that have seen my truck for tint and other stuff have all been impressed with what i did and how it sounds.
