Slim Subs
I didn't have the room either , I made the room . But only enough to use shallow subs .
46 oz motor + low sensitivity and the traditional small excursion of shallow subs = not much ability to get loud.
I've only heard one in a store in a spec Rockford ported box, and it was far better than other shallows but it still wasn't that good even compared to a standard P3.
OP - Shallows are a compromise. Don't make it if you don't have to.

Of course it wasn't as good as a regular sub , It is a Shallow Sub . But how many people have room in their trucks to put in subs with a 6-8 " mounting depth ? Shallows are a compromise , but if you want base in tight spaces , it is the only alternative . Why do you think I put in 4 , so that I get the output of 2-3 regular 12's .
I have nothing against the P3 - it's one of the best shallows price-for-product wise. But it is still a massive compromise over a standard driver, and if it isn't necessary to make that compromise then it shouldn't be made IMO.
Only thing is, with the space under the seat people do often have space for traditional divers. With older regular cab trucks (which I think you might have, I could be wayyy off) shallows are often the only solution. But there is alot more space in these trucks than most think, if they care to take a look and perhaps build a box themselves - especially with split bench/captains single cab NBS F150s. Fiberglass opens up a whole nother world beyond that, but obviously most cannot do that.

I have a 2001 Supercrew . I have 4 P3 (Shallow) 12's behind the rear seat and 3 amps . There is not enough depth for a standard sub . I probably have 100 hours just making the 4 shallows and 3 amps fit . I have yet to see anyone else do it .

My comment was in reference to underseat installs, where there is 6 inches of mounting depth. Why compromise there - where the average consumer is putting subs - when you do not have to?
PS - What amps are those? Quite the lookers.
I have seen that once personally, in a F350 crew cab with Pioneers. I truly respect your ability to fabricate/install - I had seen that setup before and liked it alot. It's far more than I ever could do. Heck I can build a barn but I can't even begin to think about a box with a slanted face.

I meant that I have yet see see another 2001-2003 F150 Supercrew with this done . I know what was involved , it was quite a bit more than just building a box and setting it in . There was extensive metal cutting involved . When I started this install , just for ****s and giggles , I called 4 stereo shops and they all said it was impossible to do this . As far as being creative with space , I have audio in just about every place imaginable in this truck . The Amps are MTX Thunder (American Made) 1501D , 282 and 684 . I had them powdercoated white and Yellow .
Whats the final load on that amp?
i'll get some better pics so itll be easier for you to critisize and pick at it.
