I installed a 9887 in my truck about a month ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. The ipod interface is extremely easy to use, its almost exactly the same as controlling your ipod by hand. It was really easy to run the full speed cable from the glove box to the hu also.

i guess the 9887 still has t/a but to have it done automatically you gotta buy imprint which is another like 250 bucks. i need to go play with a 880prs and a 9887 and bring my ipod and hook it up.

well i snagged a P880PRS so i hope the ipod works at least OK. it was to good of a deal to pass up for what i was getting. at least i think so. i wanted the alpine for the ipod but as far as tuning goes i was pretty much set on the pioneer. no way was i going to spend 400 bucks on a deck and have to spend another 250 on imprint to really get its full potential. so there you go, now soon in the next couple days i'll be the owner of a P880PRS when it comes in.

But seriously, you cant beat that price for the deck AND the IPOD adaptor...

The ipod integration on the 880 is great. Its all done through the HU, toss the ipod in the glove box and forget its even there (keeps it out of sight).

so you think i got a pretty decent deal considering its used?

Also curious what constant charging will do to my ipod. i listen to it all the time on deadhead trips in company vans to and from trains so i cant have the battery craping out.

New stuff just arrived...

Picture of everything thats arrived to date...

ID OEMs

Id NX30s

Cascade Audio Engineering 7" deflex pads, also have a pair of Second skin DPs on the way or so i think. googled them and it brought me to the speaker tweaker kit for $1.00 and let me order them so we shall see. ordered them just to see what would happen and if there was a quality difference.

I'm sure we all know what this stuff is and its all 3/8" black.

Zip ties are always handy

Random heatshrink and my dumb butt not thinking didnt get anything bigger than 1/2" and whether that'll go over 1/0 idk???

Last but not least, two rolls of Raamat which may be joined by a third. UPS man thought it was a heavy box lol...

And as of now there is a Pioneer P880PRS with ipod adaptor on its way to me.

There is also a Kicker PKD1 1/0 wiring kit on its way which i snagged for a crazy cheap price of 99.95 shipped.

So i still need a front stage amp/s, RCAs, speaker wire, big3 wire, maybe a third roll of Raamat and some more heatshrink which i can get around here.
May also pick up a second set of Id OEM mids just to have around incase they become unavailable.

Another tweeter mounting idea?? i kinda like this one. would be easy to fill that little hole in the Apillars when i sell the truck instead of a big fawking hole in the door.

Thats pretty much all i can think of for now. 3/4" MDF will come when its time to install.

hmm i thought you used 3/8, oh well its cheap i'll just have to order more and i can order the right size heatshrink while im at it. lol

Uhh? big4? whatever happened to just the big 3?? Battery to chassis ground, Body to chassis ground and Alt positive to battery pos. terminal?? something im missing?

I hope i can find room for all this stuff.

i like those new mags, hmm... a single mag or two RE SEs that are ALREADY paid for lol.
On a side note theres a zuki for sale on DIYMA for 350 shipped that i wish i could buy but i've spent to much money lately and if it sits there for another day or two i may just end up charging it and being done with it lol. but i dont know where i could fit a 16 inch amp vs. a 10 inch long pdx. SQ difference between the two huge? i kinda doubt it. but idk ive never heard either. the PDX will pump more power i know that, but is it cleaner power??

This is starting to get addicting and i dont even have a single thing installed. and its all your guys fault just so you all know. all i do half the time is sit there and think of different possibilitys.

#4 can be found behind the front passenger fender under the truck, its a short little run.

The PDX should be fine, it will work plenty well for what you are doing.

If you want the mag, you will need a seat lift. Also, the mag is super efficient. The one i heard was off 500 watts and it was pretty loud already. I'd stick with the SEs for a while and if you dont like them, try something else.
