If you are new to mobile audio and just want some decent beat, kickers should make you happy. But they have a very hard time staying linear, they dont blend, they just boom. Too many of my friends have them and I cant stand them.

I would look into ED 11kv.2s.

Thanks
Would you say 10s over 12s, or 12s over 10s?

I do, because I listen to (c)rap, but I don't want it to sound like crap. I want it to boom, but sound clean and be respectable.

Well seeing as the bass recordings from rap are just simple monotones, most subwoofers will sound nearly the same. Theres not really anything clean when it comes to the bass in rap songs. Listen to a metal song with quick double bass kicks and a bass guitar, whole different story.

Without a seat lift, I would stick with 10s.

You know it's crappy music when 18's can make it sound good

Really? I figured there was a difference in 10 bass 12 bass and 15 bass and 18 bass, as far as rap. I figured most of rap bass is 15" oriented. Just curious, I may be wrong, but I'm trying to learn

Ah, what do you think of Alpine 10s? I know you like ED and ID though.

Exactly
It depends on the sub and amp to how well the sub will perform. A good 10'' will stay on point much better and hit lower than a crappy 15'', but a good 15'' will stay on point and be more accurate than a crappy 10''.

I'd say a couple nicely powered 8's. If I were to do it again and didn't mind spending more money I would put multiple 8's with plenty of power to them.

Find a decent shallow 10" that doesn't take too much airspace for ported, if you can build the box for it. More output with less power. Probably not going to have the SQ as a sealed setup w/ 2 subs, but it is a cheaper way to go.

When you consider that you need a ton more airspace and would only be able to fit 1 ported, you will get the same or more output with 2 sealed drivers as 1 ported one. The sealed one will also dig deeper.

So you say find some good 10s, Supercrewsound box, and a good amp?

You could get all that for pretty close to $500; possibly even lower. You gonna install it yourself?
