Center console build ?s

I've been itching to ditch my jumpseat and build my self a fiberglass center console. I've been throwing around the idea of integrating 2 subwoofers into it. I'm really starting to miss my bass and was wondering if i would be able to get the proper space for 2 10-12" subs. I know it depends alot on what woofers i choose but i'm not quite sure yet. Cost is an issue, but i do not want to waste my money either. I've through about doing them under the rear seat too, but if i could somehow intergrate everything into my console that would be awsome.

Heck i've even thought about bring the console up onto the back seat or under the rear seat like a pool

be ready to spend at least $200 in materials, especially if its 100% fiberglass, i suggest making as much as you can out of mdf

cant tell you if youll have enough air space with out knowing what truck you have, my 05 supercab has pleanty for 2 sealed 12's but that is with it going from the dash to a little farther back then the stock console, so it looks like a wider and longer flow through(which im making)

I was planning to make as much as it out of mdf as possible either way. Just using fiberglass to pretty it up pretty much.

I've got an 07 supercab and i wanted the console to start at the dash and flow back.

Are your subs going to be exposed? That's one thing i'm not sure on. I don't know how to 'conceal' them if you would. What's your setup look like?

A very clean way to "conceal" the drivers is to:

Downfire them, then router out most of the bottom of the console (of course leaving room to screw down but making feet), then take a wire mesh and put in the holes. Itll keep crap out but let the sound out.

Not to sound like an idiot, but downfiring means the subs will be bolted to the bottum of the box firing into the floor, correct?

What do you guys think of memphis? I'm looking for something decent priced, around $100-120 a sub, is that reasonable?

95% sure i'm going to run a hifonics amp unless someone says other wise

And low one more question. I've got a viper 5701 coming for xmas, what bypass box/method do you recommend?

I like the new XpressLoaders. So the XK04 would be my choice. Nice alarm. Any other options with that alarm? Eg: Glassbreak, extra sirens, digital tilt, backup battery, etc.

I want to somehow intergrate my train horns into it, i'm hoping to use one of the AUX functions. Glass break sensors, i want a pin sensor for the tonneau, tilt sensor, where's the best place to buy all the extra sensors?

It's not prewired but it can't be that hard can it? I mean i'm a technician just have never messed with putting an alarm in.

I would love to do this with one IDmax12 and run it at 1500@1 daily. Mhm that would be perfect!

Just let me know when you get it, I can help you prewire it.

Go to drdetailshop.com and get everything there. And instead of a pin sensor I would recommend getting two mercury tilt switches (one for the hood, the other for the tonneau). Yes, the aux will work for that, except you may need a relay.

I don't think i'm supposed to know i'm getting.. I saw a conformation email Either way it's coming

Wire taps should work fine right? I like the 3m ones. Wiring isn't a big deal to me, I actually love figuring out wiring problems on customers cars. Power draws tend to **** me off sometimes though

Is it alright if I pm you sometime? I'm going to need help choosing subwoofers for my truck here soon too

They got new digital tilt sensors (got it on my truck now).... Problem with mercury is that most people like to park in driveways that have an angle to them.... See where I'm going with this? Yeah.... Wow, that just sounds really condescending.... Sry...
