Buddy of mine had two 12" volfenhaag's and they were pretty good. He never had a issue with them and they were clean and hit like a mother!

I guess flea market subs are pretty good if you've never heard any better, they suck tho... trust me they don't "hit"

I have a 12" jbl in a custom box in the back of my ranger and I love it. I shopped around alot and felt JBL was a strong enough company with a good rep.

They are POS. once you hold it in your hand you can tell there is nothing to them. Just a lot of purity parts!

I would not say Volfenhag and JL in the same sentence. JBL makes some pretty good subs from budget to really good. Of course everyone knows I am partial to Image Dynamics. The IDQ sub might fit the bill. JL subs are very good subs. Some say way overpriced and maybe so. There are subs that will perform just as good or better for less money. The IDQ is one of them. There are lots of others.

I run all Alpine and JL Audio in my Truck!!

I have a JL Stealth Box not the ported one either...
It houses a JL 10w3v3-4ohm sub I'm pushing it with a JL 500/1 amp!!
In my doors JL XR's my four channel amp JL 300/4
HeadUnit Alpine W-205... And Lots of Dynamat!!

This thing has crisp clean sound and when I need to show up the local hoopty that is sitting at the light with his trunk rattleing...
Lets just say I win! lol...

Now I comp. in SQ So depending on what your trying to get out of your truck audio wise. Something else might be better for you.

But trust me JL Subs are the Shiznit. You get what you pay for...

I would go w/ the kicker cvx. Its just like the solo barics but circle. I like the cvx's better cuz the solo barics are square and they have sensitive pressure points and they blow easier than the cvx. Plus they have the same power and everything.
