JL makes three different stealth boxes for the newer body style F-150's. 2 out of the 3 require you to remove the jack. They make a ported for the supercab and a ported for the supercrew. The sealed version fits both.

yeah it was late last night and i didnt read any of it i just assumed since it didnt go under the passenger side seat(in which i just noticed it does a little bit) then you wouldnt need to move the jack but anyways with that box im sure you could modify the jack bracket to still fit

az midget - what body style is that box made for

ok somebody answer me this. i want to build a box for a single ten under my seat. sub is a kicker cvr.

i've read that some people build a box tuned for "x" amount of hertz or whatever. or they build a box tuned for whatever.

can i simply take measurements and make it fit or do i need to worry that much about the sound?

You need to worry about the sound. Just building a box to fit the speaker and fit under the seat isn't going to get the speakers max(or what you want out of it sound wise) potential. That's probably why audio shops charge out the *** for custom made boxes

that's kinda what i thought. that's why i didn't want to just jump into it and put on together.

but i'm not paying a 200+ for a box that requires less than $40 of mdf

I don't blame you, mine was 275. Just search around the speakers section and you'll get the info you need to tackle your own box.

Good point!

Thanks for the tip on the JL that fits under one side, Devildog. I only need one 10 at most, so that smaller box should do the trick.

For the record, I was buidling and porting boxes before most of you could drive, I'm just old and married now and don't need to shake the bolts loose. My crappy 5.4 will do that on it's own!

Thanks again,

--David

Hey your welcome. Just remeber that the JL box that fits just under the drivers side is a sealed enclosure. The others are ported, thats why they take up most of the underneath.

Once you get it and install it, take some pics, and let everyone know what you think.

Good luck,

i have some pics in my gallery of the q logic box that holds one ten sub. i dont know what it sounds like, as i haven't hooked it up yet. from what i understand, it sounds pretty good for a prefab box. i am getting to old and can't afford to blow my ear drums out know.
