* Power Handling, Peak: 300 Watts
* Sensitivity: 94dB

Just keep in mind that they are 2 ohm speakes and to match the power of the speakers with the 2 ohm rating. I believe infinity makes an amp that would work pretty good w/ them but I don't know alot about them.
I have a fosgate 60x4 amp that I belive is 90x4 @2 ohms. I got it at best buy. They are selling last years amps at very good price ($119) if you can still find one. They also have a 2 year warenty if you use a fosgate amp wiring kit.

My bad it's 110x4 @ 2ohms. model p450.4

ohm are resistance. You don't have to put 100 watts to them it's just the most you can safely.

For best performance get an amplifier that puts out a true 400 to 800 watts per channel.

For good performance, go for about 200 watts per channel.

For average performance, go for about 100 watts per channel.

why would you run a 400-800 watt rms amp to a pair of speakers rated at 100. Seems like a waste of money to me and that you're asking for trouble and blowing the speakers.

Huh

Dynamic headroom is a good thing but, this is a little over the top for a pair of Infinity speakers. In the hands of most users, these speakers would go poof pretty quickly.

I bought the Infinity amp rated at 90wx4, so that should do the trick, just waiting for delivery on the speakers.

Let us know how it turns out after the install. I'm doing pretty much the same thing, 4 INFINITY KAPPA 682.7CF with a MRP-F450 ALPINE 4 CHANNEL amp. Probably gonna use some dynamat in the doors too. Will post up results after install.

Power has nothing to do with performance. Most people will use less than 1-watt for every day listening.

You are very correct.

However, others may not know that listening at 1 watt average with a music crest factor of 20 dB is 100 watts peak without clipping. OK, only audiophile music has a crest factor of 20dB. Most run of the mill top 20 and rap has a crest factor of 12 dB or worse.

So that is why I said for "average" performance, go for the 100 watt/ch amp. "Average" should be good enough for the everyday BestBuy or Circuit City consumer, not an enthusiast.

Okay, but if person A uses speakers with 96db/w efficiency with 50w availible and person B has 87dB/w with 200w availible, person A's will be louder @ peak and use less power @ normal levels. Also, going from a 100w amp to 400w amp only gains you 6dB peak, and most people don't listen to music in vehicles anywhere close to peak power or speaker levels, whatever the limits are for their system.

My point above was that power is only one part of designing a good sounding system.

Well got this all put in and it sounds great! Needed some help with the amp install so I took it to Earmark. They did a great job. This set-up is loud and clean. At just half volume it will make your ears bleed and there is zero distortion.

Obviously night and day difference compared to stock. I might complete the system later on with a 10" sub. Folks at Earmark said I wouldn't even need another amp.
