not to get off subject but in refrence to thoes 9Kv.2's, on ED's website they list sealed box specs as small, ideal, and large. I see your design keeps them pretty close to the ideal measurment. Would there be any advantages building a box with an internal vol. closer to the large setup?

For what it's worth, here's what I'm running now.

Entire system was built for noticeable bass and SQ characteristics. Everything but the head unit and tweeters are mounted where you cannot see them. I hate car alarms.

ALPINE head unit (don't have model no. offhand)
JL Audio 300/2 to MB Quart 6.5 comps up front
JL Audio 500/1 to single Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 in a 0.50 cu ft sealed box

what i've replaced...

TWO HiFonics ZX8000's. I am done with the maxxsonic's product lines. Both amps lasted about 1.5 years. Which, for what you pay is about expected. Both ended up burning out multiple transistors all at once in a singl catastrophic failure. I even had my own fan cooling system set up externally. These amps run way too hot to last.

ONE Elemental Designs 11Kv.2 --- nearly sent the motor through the cone on this blown sub. JL 500/1 is a bit too much power when running NIN's Perfect Drug through this thing.

update time, got the box 95% done and test fitted it for the first time, it sticks out about 1 1/2 inh from the front of the seat. sucks but I can deal with it. carpets about 75%. and I got the neon tubes. I'm now waiting for my binding posts at this point
