I just put a 8" bazooka tube in my supercrew and it went under the rear seat. It does not put off shake your whole truck bass but it does do a great job for inside the cab.

Mark-- That looks great, I like how you have it and you can't see a thing.

sub box

Mark, that looks great. I am planning something pretty much just like that. The only thing I think would look better is if the box was about 1-2" taller and your cut was up above the access panels so you didn't see the cutouts.
I have a Kicker SL7 8" that should fit right in the behind the seat. And I have a Kicker 550.2 I am gonna push it with.
I didn't want to do under the seat because of storage issues. So behind the seat where that panel is seems to be all wasted space anway. Great job guys

Are you able to still fold down your back seats?

Hmm...That is very tempting but I'm hesitate to start cutting. Do you have any pictures of the installation with both seats all the way down? I'm wondering if I could get away with that setup with my 2 crazy dogs in the back (with the seat down)

bigrook99- I can not fold them down with it in there but if I want to take it out all I have to do is unplug it. there is a plug with all the wires at the tube, I think it might take about 10 seconds to remove the tube. -- --- - - south_ms_sprcru- thanks

Oh, I see! Thats cools. My only worry would be advertising everyime I take me dogs to the local park. I'm starting to realize it is impossible to have a sub under the seats and still be able to fold the seats all the way down. Maybe I could do a "bass tube". Do you think that would work with the seats?

I couldn't make the box any higher because the trucks frame gets in the way. When i get a little more time however, i will cut the access panels and glue them in. I bought the back panel from a junkyard for $60 so its a little scratched and, well, the wrong colour infact. My interior is dark grey and the panel is light grey(Only one in the city that wasen't tan). So ill probably end up painting it and putting in my old plugs for the screw holes from my other panel. When you do make yours however, make sure the box is atleast a quarter inch smaller than the open width-wise, thats what i did and after i put the carpet on its a hell of a tight fit. It takes two people and a couple of screws as handles to get the box out. Needless to say i'm not too concerned about a thief trying to steal it cause he'll have a hell of a time trying.
Also, there is a gap on both sides of the box at the bottom where the back panel flares out as it hits the floor of the truck. Makes a good handle and a good access point for reaching in and unplugging the wires.

I'll take one tomorrow if i remember, but with both seats down you could only install one of the two smaller panels that flip down with the seat. The bigger of the two panels that flip down would fit, but the sub is in the way for the smaller panel. Also i don't know how crazy your dogs are but they might end up wrecking the sub somehow.
