JL Audio 8W3 anyone???

I was just wondering if anyone has an 8W3 or any experience with them. I am thinking of installing one under the back seat of my scab and was just wondering how it would sound. Im not looking to rattle my mirrors, just some nice clean bass. Any help would be appreciated.

I just installed 4 in a 2006 screw with 1000 wrms and I was impressed. The sound was tight and I thought it did well with bass. We still have some tuning to do, so hopefully it will get better.

8W3V3 are new, right? I was planning on building a box like Dupuis's using two 8W3V2.

Looking forward to hearing back from you after you're done with your install.

I got it all installed yesterday and it sounds awesome. I got a JL 8w3v3 with a kicker 300.1 mono amp running it with an eclipse head unit. Pics will be in my gallery as soon as I can get them uploaded. I also mounted my remote for my amp under my head unit in the opening. I decided to run my amp remote so that I can control the bass since I listen to all kinds of music and some songs sound like crap with lots of bass.

It is not anything that willl rattle my mirrors but it sure does sound good. It gets pretty loud and hits pretty hard. I am really impressed with its performance and would recommend JL speakers. I have had other systems in the past and this speaker sounds much better than them. For a single 8 I am really impressed and satisfied with the way it sounds and performs.

Dont get me wrong its loud but I had 2 12's in my last truck. This was the first custom box I ever built. I saved almost $400 by purchasing it all seperately and installing it myself. Will post pics in gallery soon.

UFScrew do you think the 8's are louder than the two 12's you have. I'm sure they are.

Just make sure the box is built to spec with the correct volume and vent size if going ported. The box will make all the difference.

General rule (meaning that there are exceptions):
If you are not satisfied with the bass quality, it is most likely a box problem. If you are not satisfied with the bass loudness, you'll might need more power, more subs and/or bigger subs.
