Box plays too low

your looking for midbass, save you money buying another sub untill you upgrade your frontstage

this is absolutely incorrect. that is one of the biggest misconceptions in car audio.
the speed of a subwoofer is affected by: type of driver, enclosure type/volume, and amplifier type/power. do some reading on ECA and you will read IDQ15's will play just as quick with excellent SQ as compared to others 8's or 10's for example.


if you think your sub plays too low, you have achieved what 90% of everyone out there are trying to achieve. i'm going with 15's to get the low notes. a good front stage will determine your presence and speed.
you should try more power to that same sub and you might be amazed at the improved control. i've had ~750 wrms to a single 10w6 in 1 cuft sealed and it hit very low and fast, even though jl doesn't recommend a box that big.
