You don't have the benefits of the passive xover doing all the work for you...you have to manually set your points and slopes. Gives you more flexibilty in your settings.

Make sense?
Sure does, I think I am going to get some comps up front (im currently running MB Quartz discus coaxls) and i am not pleased with the bass response of them. But i do believe when I get my comps i will run them with a crossover. Is it at all possible to get a good pair of comps that i can crank up and still have good sound quality for around 100 bucks for the pair???

Bryan and I both just picked up some Hertz Audio HSK 165 comps for $110 shipped each. He hasnt hooked his up yet but I have mine. They sound pretty damn good. Especially for the price.

Nope. He's putting them in his wifes car. We both bought them to try them out. In my case they are staying in my truck. Very nice sounding.

where did you get them from for that price? Also, how did you mount them in your truck? did you have to prefab a mounting plate to fit the woofer into the 5x7 spot? Also are they 5.25 or 6.5's? Did you have to do any cutting?
