Question 12" pioneers, Will they fit??

I have a 2005 f150 lariat SuperCab and i was wondering if a pair of 12" pioneers will fit below the back seats.

Thanks, John.

If you were able to sqeez 2 12inch subs in ur ride, chances are you wouldnt have enough airspace in the encloser for the subs to hit right. I had the same issue in the dodge i used to have.

All I could get was a kicker 8 in square sub. It sounds good on a punch 200 amp. This box was made for it.

You most likely will need to get a seat lift like pb4life said. If you did get a seat lift, it may not be enough air space for a pair of 12"s. Also, where do you plan to put your amp/s?
I ended building a custom box with one 10" low profile speaker. I barely had enough room without doing a seat lift.

Here's some pics:

pioneer makes really shallow 12's. dont know hte model number; TX150 has them and theyre not bad; placed under the seat theyll actually sound tight like two 10s bc theres not enough space down there

Seat lift

So even if i do get a seat lift you say the 12s wont sound as good.
So should i just get a 2 10" box and not bother with the seat lift?

12's will fit (depending on the sub) and sound great if you build a good box. You will need a seat lift.

Just remember, it's about air space... I heard a single 10" "out bass" dual 10's in the 04+ SCrews, just for the fact of not enough air space. Unfortunately, the newer SCrews rear seat is really tight. Unless you lift the seat, it's hard to get the air volume that is needed for a dual sub system.

It all depends what your looking for...spl, sq, sql? Do you want lower bass extension, flatter response, that butterworth Qtc, etc.

I got 2.26 ft^3 (net) with the box I built utilizing a seat lift. The subs I'm using sound best utilizing a box (sealed) between 1-1.5 ft^3 (for each sub).

It's not impossible to get dual 10's or even dual 12's to sound "good" in an '04-'07 F150, but I definitely agree you need a seat lift.

Check out LMI Welding for a prebuilt seatlift kit. Their website is http://www.lmiwelding.com/ . I'll be installing their kit for the 04 this weekend myself.

You can build a seat lift yourself, but personally I decided to go with the seat lift kit instead of taking the time to make the parts myself.

FYI here is some more information on the materials used to build the seat lift yourself if you are interested. This was from back when I was looking at making the lift myself. I know that there are a few users on the F150 forums that have made their own seat lift as well. I ran into a few pictures in the gallery if that is the way you would prefer to go.
