Ok, I've pulled the plug out and everything and I do see where I need to drill, but I'm kind of screwed because I'm not confident enough just to drill into that thing and I'm even less confident about taking the brake assembly apart. I'm not experienced enough to do that and I don't want to screw everything up. I really don't know what my choice is now. I don't have the knowledge that you've got brypink2. I'm putting Infinity References in the doors and is it really going to make a difference if I run new lower gauge wire or if I just splice into the old crappy wire somewhere? It's not like I'm putting some bad @ss rainbows in or anything. Is it ok to push about 60 watts through one of those crappy stock wires? Thanks for all of your help man!

Don't splice your wires then....get the speaker wire adapters. You can get them at Crutchfield.

But if I'm running an amp to the factory head unit I have to use a line output converter just to run the RCA's to the amp. Then when I'm running the speaker wire from the amp I would have to go back into the factory wire at some point. D@mn these plugs....

Ha, I'm in a sh1tty spot right now because that factory wire is pathetic. Do you think it would make a difference to run a lower gauge wire or stick with this crap for around 60 watts? I just can't bring myself to take that brake assymbly apart because I'd never get it back together...

I wouldn't use the stock wire, but that's me. The brake assymbly is just 3 bolts. It's really not that hard...just tight, cramped space and a little time consuming.

What brake assembly are you talking about? Do you mean the kick panel cover that has the e-brake handle coming out of it? Or do you actually have to remove the e-brake assembly itself? I guess I don't see what is so difficult. It must be completely different than mine, because my girlfriend could figure out how to put mine back together. I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just trying to tell you that it's much simpler than you think, either that, or my truck is COMPLETELY different than yours. I'm gonna go back to the beginning of the thread and see if I missed something...

Never mind... I should always read first! Then post. If Brypink had trouble... I can see your reluctance.

Sounds to me like you need to take it in to a professional shop, and have them do it. That way, if anything goes wrong, you have someone else to blame it on!

Exactly, if brypink said it could be a b1tch than it would probably end up pissing me off. I would take it somewhere and have it done, but the only part of my install that is tricky is the running new wire to the front doors. Everything else is a breeze. I'm not going to pay a **** load of money to have somebody else do this install. Plus, I'm compulsive about stuff like that and don't want somebody else drilling around in my door plug. I'll figure something out, I'm just trying to gain as much knowledge as possible before I get in there. Other people could learn from this thread as well.
