Either amp(Coustic 800D) subs(2 Memphis 10s) I dont know. Ive only had it hooked up for about 3wks and now the only way they will play loud is if I turn the bass boost all the way up.

I think they use a current meter that will go higher then 20 amps and put it in series with the load. The meter kinda expensive and that why average person doesn't have it. You measure the current and the voltage output of the amp. Then you could use the formula P= I x V to give you how much power it putting out. I might be wrong though. If I am someone please correct me. I hope I'm right. I've always wanted to hook an amp to an O scope to watch the transistors go into saturation. Just for the heck, but I've never got the chance.

Send your amp to the guy listed below. He's a legend in the world of car audio repair.

Mr. Robert(Ray) Rayfield @TIPS, Inc. He can be found here http://www.linearpower.com He will fix you up without screwing you.

It really matters who's doing the bench test. Most retailers version of bench test is to just hook it up to speakers/power, and look for lights and sound. What kind of place is doing the bench test, an electronics repair shop?? if they want your business, it's free w/repair, if it's just a bench test 9.99 and up... at most

I guess they are a retail shop its at a flea market. But they install, tint, sell, repair etc. I dont think they know what they are doing. They just took a volt meter and checked it, no charge though.
