My Double 10W7 Sub Box...progress pics.

I didn't get as much done today as I wanted. Too many dang teenage kids. LOL Anyone want to buy a couple of teenage kids?

I had a couple of measurements off too, so I had to make a few adjustments on those. I did get a skeleton put together to do a test fit...I'm off about an 1/8" to 1/4" on top towards the back of the box. I'll fix that tomorrow and finish the cuts. Hopefully, tomorrow it will complete (raw finish) and ready for sanding.

Enjoy the pics and go ahead and ask your questions. Oh, I thought you might like a pic of the double dubs too!

Willing to share final measurements? Or how about selling a plan? I am installing the LMI 2.5'' kit.

Wow, looking great. I can not wait to see the W7's installed and under the seat. You are really making me want to tackle that lift kit. The anticipation is killing me.

I'm sure we could work something out...not sure if I would charge though, that seems kinda stingy.

If there was someone that did paint & body work (especially close to me), I would pay for and build you a box (minus the subs) if you prepped and painted my Lariat fender flares to match my truck.

Lookin good! Are you goning to have grills over the subs? I guess you'll be alright if no one rides back there, but if someone did, I sure would be worried about a heel going through the front of one of those expensive bastards! Keep the pics comin!

I want to put the JL Audio "bar" type grilles on the front. I'm not sure if I will have room on the front baffle for them though. I want to put 2 grilles on each sub. With matching bars staggered inward. The other side would go the opposite way. The bad thing is the grilles are like $32 each.

Bry, I sent you an e-mail.
But now that I see that the subs are firing forwards i'm wondering if I could build a box like that and port it.
Any Idea how many cuft you've got there?
Also, where did you get the seat lift?
Is it hard to install?
And do you have to remove the seat to get the box under it, if so how hard is that?
I've got the skills and know-how to accomplish most of these tasks but time is a bit of a problem... Unless I could knock it all out in a day.

brypink2, Your progress looks really good. Not to sound negative or anything, but did you by chance calculate the interior volume of the enclosure once the subs are in it? It looks really small for the subs. And if it's outside the specs regarding the receommended volume, then the box will have a really high Q value. Additionally, based on the sound pressure that those subs will produce, are you thinking about any internal bracing? Realistically, those subs with enough pressure could descinigrate the box, but to the current lack of bracing.

The seat lift is a 2.5" LMI seat lift. It wasn't that hard to install. You can do a search and find more info about it. The box volume started at exactly 1.25 ft^3 per sub. Yes, I took in consideration for driver displacement and wall thickness. I've had to make a couple of minor measurement adjustments while building it, but nothing major...I'm still within JL specs. As for a ported box...I don't think you can squeeze enough volume to accommodate that. I was pushing it to get the 1.25 ft^3. I don't like how a W7 sounds in a ported box. This isn't my first box, nor is it my first W7. I had both a 12W7 and a 10W7 in my last truck. I had both in a sealed and ported box...I preferred the sealed on both occasions. Lastly, no I don't have to remove the back seat to get the box in and out. It slides right under...fits like a glove.
