I already have the seat lift, just haven't installed it yet. I picked up the cheap box just for a template and didn't want to get one of those boxes that will only fit the shallow mount subs that cost a fortune. I want to build something that will give me a wider range of sub choices.

Hey, Well I had a 05 F150, and I flipped it not to long ago. But Im selling my cobra to get another f150 here in the next couple of months. Anyways, enough with the history... Ive been looking at boxes and I hate that there is no boxes for subs like the W7.

Would you be willing to build some of these boxes to sell? Im really wanting to put 2 10W7's in the truck when I get it and I do NOT have the know how to build something like this, even with plans. I mean I could probably find someone to help me build the box if I had plans, but I would rather not even try. I had two 12" solobaric L7's in my Trans Am and they hit hard as hell, but I heard some W7's and DAMN!

Also, I have a JBL 1200.1 amp that I ran my 2 L7's on, and do you think that would be enough to push to two 10W7's? What about enough to push the 2 W7's and like 2 or 4 door speakers?

Thanks, Trevor

That amp will only run the subs, you will need a 2/4 channel amp to push the door speakers.

Thanks for the info... I dont know what I was thinking on that one. I have been out of the audio world for so long, I just completely forgot about that. I got into sportbikes and lost interest in cars but im getting back into it.

you can buy the truck bed liner in a spray can at autozone or walmart. It hold up pretty well. I have it on my CRF50 plastics and its great. Plus if it chips, just touch it up with another spray on that spot and its back to new.

I know thats not the same stuff he used on his box, cause thats a sound deadening(spelling?) material, which is probably what you want, But just thought I would give you another idea.

Sorry to hear about your truck. That really sucks.

I might be willing to build the boxes and sell them. I mean if the price is right. If you are in SoCal you can come over and I'll help you build it. I also put out the offer for someone to paint my Lariat fender flares and I'll pay for and build them this same box as a trade. I'll do that for someone out of state as well. Each would pay for their own shipping though. So, if you are into body/paint work we can work out a deal.

About the JBL 1200.1, IIRC it is only stable down to 2ohms (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I'm not sure if it would be safe to run it at 1.5 ohms which you would need for 2 10W7's. Or, an amp that has 1000+ watts rating at 6 ohms. You can always buy another JBL 1200.1 and run one amp on each sub. If it were me (and I didn't have my Zapco 9.0), I would just run a JL Audio 1000/1. I actually like the JL slash amps...they are under rated and built like a tank.

Thanks.

I haven't seen a truck liner in a spray can for retail, not to say it's not available. All I have seen at a car parts store is a roll on type. They do have an undercoat in a spray can. I used a couple cans of DynaSpray which isn't an undercoat.

What are you looking to accomplish for your sand rail? Making the floor quieter? Are you spraying it on the inside or outside? I would maybe do the Rhino Liner, Line-X, Herculiner thing. It's more durable and still will help deaden any rattles. DynaSpray wouldn't do what you want if you need it to be durable and I would think an undercoat wouldn't deaden and rattles very good.

Actually, they are stable down to 1 ohm They push about 1400ish watts once they are down in that 1 ohm range. Nice and versitile amps for the money, only thing is some of them have problems with clipping.
I even have a BP600.1 sitting in my room.

Bry-I didnt look at the latest pics (stupid dial up) but Im sure the box is kicking a$$. Props for doing something most people whould think would be possible (me being one).

What's the name of the truck liner that you get in a spray can? I'm gonna put a liner on my sub box and I'd rather spray it on than roll it on.

Thanks for correcting me. It should be fine at 1.5 ohms then. Now, clipping problems...these people complaining, are they using a scope or DMM to set their gains? Or, anything at all? Do you know what voltage it clips at?

Thanks about my box. You arent missing much with the new pics. LOL It just looks like a box. But, this I will gaurantee, it fits, the subs fit and it's gonna work. Not sure what it will sound like just yet, but it is within JL specs so hopefully it wont sound too bad. I hope to have it finish by Sunday. I have the front baffle on and it's drying out from the wood filler for the screw holes. Just need to sand it, cut the terminal holes and line it with the Herculiner.

Yes, even with properley set gains it can happen. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt-it just depends on your luck. Most of the time its not a problem, and if Tbone didnt have any problems with it, then his should be fine. (unless your L7's are blown, then you might have that problem)

Most of the time its not a problem-but its out there and its just something to watch for.

Good luck with the box this weekend!

Well I dont live in the SoCal area, but it would be great if you were willing to sell a couple of them. I do have a good friend that is the paint and body guy at Classic Chevrolet(one of the biggest chevy dealerships and BEST paint and body around here in the DFW), so Ill see what I could do about that. But like I said, I would rather just pay money and have the box(less chance of complications and such). So if you decide you could sell them, just let me know the price you think is fair and it will most likely(99%) work for me and fit my budget.

Here is a link to a site that has it online. But I know for a fact that walmart carries it and *i think* autozone has it also. Its in the spray paint section. Its like $8.00 a can but I bought two cans and did all the plastics on my fiddy and still had about 1/2 a can left for touch ups.

Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner Spray Can

Also, my L7's were for sure not blown. So thats good to know that amp will work! Thanks for the info!

Between my son hurting his foot and going to the doctor yesterday and my golden going to the emergency vet this morning this is all I got done.

Box ready for Herculiner tomorrow. I also added a pic with one of the W7's in it. I still also have to install the wire terminals.
