want to switch my sub

well i have an audiobahn alum 10 q, and before you jump on me i got it for 50$ new from a friend so i had to jump on that. After a year or so i'm getting tired of it though. i have a PPI PCX-1250 which gives 250x1 at 4 ohms and 500x1 at 2 ohms. Looking to stick with a single sub and I will be building a new enclosure to match the sub. I haven't really been into car stereos much lately so i'm kind of out on whats still good. I listen to a pretty even mix between hard rock and rap so I need a well balanced sub. Thanks

Resonant Engineering SE ran at 2 ohms would be something I personally would look into.
Also might want to look into Incriminator Audio's Lethal Injection
Sound Splinter Rl-p.

All great subs.

If you want to stay with your more mainstream brands, the new Alpine Type R's are supposed to be pretty nice, JL w6's, Image Dynamics IDQ, etc.

Just a few options

ya i was looking at the alpine type r's. How deep is the RE sub i've been looking around on sound domain and they seemed to be well talked about. With my audiobahn now you can't take the seat back very far and I have some tall friends. But that was like a 6 1/2 inch deep sub, it was deeper than most. Where can i get some pricing for the RE?

I cant remember what mounting depth for the RE SE is.
Im sure its on their website- www.reaudio.com

Last I knew price for a 12" SE was 185 bucks. It may have changed since then though, you might have to email/call RE to find out for sure.

Check out the AE AV12, http://yellow.mynethost.com/~bv12636...235ea69e000262 i dont really know if you can find a better sub for that amount of money. If i had an suv or something i would have like 4 of these, or atleast one in my truck if i didnt get a good deal on my avalanche 12.

I have 2 10" Image Dynamics in my 2005 Crewcab. The sound great, you'll be some deep bass with these badboys. Here is the website, www.imagedynamicsusa.com. The website say's the RMS is at 250 watts, but believe me, they can handle alot more than that.
