Im sure these guys got it figured out or at least i would hope so by now. The nav is the one that has to be programed for the vehicle and sub and other options...
These guys were getting factory audiophile stereos off ebay etc that were ready to be plugged in
Yep, we realize it's four years old and that's the problem. The dealerships haven't figured it out. THe head unit (NAV, SAT, 6-disc and DVD) I have in my truck (the original), isn't an "audiophile" according to the window sticker, but when I pulled the stereo it has all of the connections that an "audiophile" system has; just no audiophile speakers in the door or the subwoofer.

When I took it to the dealer, they said it was just plug n play, i.e. "just hook up the subwoofer and it should be good to go -- the sub must be bad (not the case)." I think it has to be reprogrammed, but getting the service techs to believe a "stupid" customer has been quite a challenge. Afterall, I haven't been to all of those Ford Tech Schools.

There is a thread floating around here on swaps from regular stereos to full optioned navs in the first 04+ gen trucks. People were getting navs and sending them to a guy for programming. It has information on a person that does the nav programming for the nav to be fully functional on older trucks and i remember one of them saying he also programmed it to function with the factory sub he already had. Do a search and see if you come up with it.
