Stoner,

You can pick the 3-way Pioneer 6x8 speakers up at Walmart for $58

They are the TS 6870R. I just picked a set up tonight, hopefully I will get them installed tomorrow.

Well, did anyone get those Pioneers installed?

I'd like to know how much of an improvement over the stock speakers they were.
I'd like to upgrade, but don't want to waste money, if there's not going to be much of a change.
My tin ears actually think the stock speakers kick it pretty good, compared to vehicles of yesteryear.

So.............what's the verdict.................are the Pioneers (especially the ones at wallyworld), a good replacement?

Also, a direct bolt in?

thanks.

The Pioneers will provide some improvement over stock, and if they fit your budget, etc. you may be satisfied with them, but in the whole realm of aftermarket speakers they are very, very average, at best. These kinds of speakers, in general, have very poor crossovers, and have a very harsh high end. The 4 ways are worse. In my opinion, they are a gimmick to make unknowledgeable people think if a 2 way is good, a 3 way must be better, and a 4 way must be unbelieveable. That's simply not true.
