A good time was had by all of us (well the 2 that went anyway). I have not been to this show before but Daniel said this was the most people he has seen there. It was busy but there were not many deals to be had. Anything I have purchased in the last year had gone up in cost considerably. Even my Kimber pro covert that I paid near $1200 for was up by almost $200. You really had to shop around to find a half way decent deal. It seems under the current administration firearms have become a good investment. Afterwards we hit Red Robin for a good burger and a couple beers. All in all it was a good day, maybe with nice weather on the horizon we could set something up out at my place for some food and target practice as long as we have more than 2 people show up.

I would just like to echo the great time I had yesterday talkin guns and trucks with Rick. I'll repeat what he said in that there werent any real "deals" and apparently the guns that I own have also increased in value. I have NEVER stood in line beyond 4-5 people to get into the Charlotte gun shows where as yesterday was probably a 20-30 minute wait to get in. My favorite, was the table we stopped by to try out the BLASTMATCH! Basically its a firestarter you can use with one hand. I've seen them online but never bought one for the $15-20 I've seen them for. I asked "How much?" The lady stated like $25 and that she only had TWO LEFT from the ones they had brought to the show. I then asked "How many did you bring?" and she replied "Two".

Anyway, let's start planning for next time. Maybe late April to early May sounds good. I sure hope more people will attend. I'll post the only picture I took when my wife brings me my camera back.

I thought about sending my 12 gauge remington bicentinel edition to the show this weekend in Hickory NC with a friend. The book says 950 bucks in the shape its in thats if the right collector is around. Shoot if I could get that much for it I would take the dudes arm off lol. Get me a mossy 12 short barrel for home defense, and I found a place up in Bakersville aka BFE that will let me get a brand new XD .45 for $525.00. Peaze cool pic of the trucks btw sorry I couldn't make it.

FYI the XD and the XDM are two different types of guns. NCSU is looking for a XDM 9mm

The XD and XDM difference's are just a tighter rifled barrel, and a larger clip right? The dude quoted me a XDM in .40 for 580.00 OTD. I was thinking about it but he don't need my rifle or .380 so I would have to sale it straight out first. I got a bite on the 7mag so we will see what happens. Im anxious as **** to get my XD or XDM tho!

we use an xd 9 at work it is a good gun.when they first came out we had a problem with the finish coming off after several hundred rounds, but spring reworked them and it seems to hold up better now.The xdm looks to be even better than the xd and I am hopping we move up to them the next go round.Chad

I know I;ve heard you say you have worked as a police officer. What do you do now, for who?

1. the XDM has a better quality match grade barrel (more accurate)
2. you can change the back strap on the grip for variation in grip size
3. has better recoil system (heavy duty guide rod spring)
4. has striker status indicator (to verify weapon is ****ed)- may have this on original XD, but not certain
5. has a MRT (minimal reset trigger) similar to sig's SRT (short reset trigger)- this is a great improvement for follow up shots.
6. deeper, longer slide grasp serrations for grip
7. more texture on polymer frame for better grip and control.
8. 16 rd. mag vs. 12 rds in the original service model XD .40

I think thats about it

first time I do nuclear security for Duke I did the police thing for seven years and got tired of the low pay.03 the xd does have a chambered round indicator and a striker indicator, also glad to see that they worked on the recoil as that was one other problem we have seen is stove piping rounds if you get a week load.Chad

Good to know that. Usually I would associate stovepipes with limp wristing the weapon but I am sure you know proper technique with your experience.

Saucer and cup technique is my favorite. I shoot Iso all the way back to 50yards last year 100/100 on Smith N Wesson MP .40. This year it was raining like u know what and I got a 97 not bad for state work. I hope someone cares alot about this shotgun lol I will be loving on my XD, or poss. xdm come next weekend.

I had to look that one up...LoL. Cant say I have ever seen it used before. It just goes to show nothing is written in stone. Practice and lots of it is what it takes to find what works best for you.

Hey Rick I saw your trucks clone twice today, unless that was you down here in Gtown. It was the old bodystyle burgundy crew FX4 with chrome toolbox. Had firefighter red bar and the lights mounted on the grille just like yours!
