Cali isnt that bad... They still require Birth Cert and SS Card.

I did renew my CA DL before finally getting my TX DL. All I had to do was pay CA DMV $35 via their website - instant 7 year renewal.

To heck with a physical address. Give them GPS coordinates... :-P

Also having a P O box doesnt mean you have tx residence.

Also if you have active Cali dL there really isnt any problem of get a TX dL,,, other then the address problem. And maybe having to take the written part of *the test.

Actually, yes it does. You need to provide 2 pieces of ID to get a PO Box, 1 with proof of physical address. In my case, the PO Box was provided as I (and the entire city I live in) do not have residential delivery. Some post offices are more strict about living in the same district than others, tho it is a Federal Requirement.

That was my problem. They would not do an extension, nothing to help. No proof of physical address no TX license.
