I don't think they made a 1995 Expedition. Could be wrong.

Or it's from another market.

First year Expedition was 1997. Depending on vehicle model, the 4.6 changed to PI (power improved) heads in the 2000-2001 time frame. Older engines can be swapped but there are differences, and the older engines have considerably less power.

1997 to 2002 4.6 Engine Swap

i have a 2002 f150 with a 4.6 that has over 250,000 and has a rod knock .
I can get a 1997 4.6 with 150,000 runs grate that is coming out a Expedition .
But first will it swap out and what would i have to change to make it work.

You can just use the long block. Everything else should be moved from the old to the new engine.

You'll obviously need to replace gaskets and such.

I hope you aren't paying much (or maybe free?) for that 1997 engine.

It is the best that i can get that i know is a good engine.
What all do i have to change over .
Just the Intake, Exhaust Manifold , Oil pan
I have new fuel injector and coil pack that i was going to use on the old engine before the rod knock.
Am i missing something.
Thank you for your reply.

going backwards with technology will reduce fuel mileage and driveability

2002 is PI, 1997 is non-PI. You cannot use the 2002 intake and exhaust manifolds on the 1997 engine.
