Last year when I got the $77 deal, I just called up and lied, lol. I said, "hi my subscription is expired and you guys sent me an offer for $77." They said, yes sir, and signed me up. Plus $23 bull**** "royalty" fee or something like that. I should have balked at that and maybe they would have waived it. If you pay $149 that fee is already figured in. I won't make that mistake again when my current sub expires in March. I like Sirius but can easily live without it.

Thanks I'll just let it expire on March 6th and then call them and tell them that I want the $77 deal. My letter had no codes or anything on it so hopefully I'll be able to get the deal.

I have four cars that have Sirius. One of them is used that I just bought and the account is still under the old owner's name. I won't mess with it until he cancels it. One of the two active ones is the trial version that came with it when we bought the car. One I pay for and one we let expire. I forgot that I had automatic renewal on the on I am currently paying for. I called up Sirius and had them change it to active billing. This way when it expires in a couple of weeks I will just let it go. I have found that they send you a bunch of e-mails asking you if you want to renew. When you tell them you are not interested because it costs too much they start dealing. I will let all of ours expire and then see what they will do to provide a package deal at a reduced cost. If they won't deal I will just let them stay off until they do. Sirius/XM is barely staying afloat these days and they want business.

I just got that letter too. Good deal Actually mine says 6 months $29.94 or a year for $95. Why is a year 3x what six months costs? Doesn't make any sense. Oh well.

Anyway, it says you must agree to "auto renew" at regular prices when the promo is up. F that. It also says I can pay by money order so I'll do that. Let's see them auto renew from a money order. Lol.

I got one for my wife's car (hers also expired) from XM for 5 months for $20. I thought the two companies merged; is there still a separate XM and a separate Sirius?

I have Sirius on two cars and XM on the other. According to the Sirius/XM website they are the same company but you cannot consolidate your XM and Sirius account. You can have multiple Sirius radios on one account or multiple XM radios on one account but you cannot combine the Sirius account with the XM account. Rather strange considering you can get the loaded Sirius account that includes the best of XM. I just received a notice telling me my new car with XM trial period is going to expire soon. I will let it expire and see how hard they work to get me back.

I needed to upgrade my credit card so instead of just doing it online I decided to call and threaten to cancel. I have 2 Sirius Radios, they offered me $25 for 5 months (per radio.) And then the lady told me to call back in July or I will start to be billed the regular rate. I than asked if they had anything for 1 year and she said she could do $88 for 1 year per radio. I Obviously took the 5 month deal because it only works out to $5.00 a month per radio versus $7.33 with the 1 year plan.

Called in a few weeks ago and threatened to cancel and they gave me $140 for two radios for a year. So about $5.83/month for each radio.

The Sirius business model is seriously flawed. They are WAY more in love with their product than most consumers are -- it's simply a nicety that people can easily do without. I wish they'd just price the product REASONABLY ($100.00 or less per year per radio) and quit the silly games!

I think their music selection (especially the country genre) is marginal at best. The only reason I've renewed in the past is the fact that I like having the ability to listen to all the local feeds of NFL games during the fall, and catch Bill O'Reilly if I happen to be traveling during the evening hours.

Beyond that, I hardly even turn it on......

I've got XM on my Pioneer linked with my IP-BUS, but I use it everytime I'm in my truck... I've gotten addicted to practically commercial free music.

I still can't justify the costs... but I love music w/out the commericals. Plus I like going to some of the other channels when a friend is in my truck, and they can choose what they like. I usually say, "You be the DJ of the day!"...

I usually log on once a month and keep a copy printout of the channel lineup in my truck someplace... just in case!

Just got an ad in the mail for a similar deal that is 5 months for $20.00. It was for my wife's car that we bought new about a year or less ago. It had XM and we let the trial run out. They sent a couple of letters and finally this one is the lowest deal yet. Kind of strange they went with 5 months instead of 6 though. She doesn't want it but they have a URL on the letter they sent that will probably let me set up my son's XM next month when his expires for the same price.

I've called twice today trying to renew mine and both times I got pretty much the same response. In the last two months I've purchased subscriptions for two other radios for $77/year each and the best they can do now is $109.XX by adding my radio to one of my existing plans. I doubt I renew my subscription unless I can get a better deal.
