Commercials On XM Radio

Has anyone else noticed that XM seems to be playing more and more commercials as time goes by. I first subscribed to XM about 2 years ago and still love it, but it just seems like the commercials are slowly creeping into the programming.

I agree. It is quite funny that we pay $12.95/month to NOT be like terrestrial radio, but they are slowly making it that way. I guess that's the trade off they make when they are having trouble paying the bills. I've got a handful of stations that I really enjoy, and those are yet to be "commercialized"; however, if they do become overly commercialized, then XM will be getting a nasty letter from me and the location to send the remainder of my 2-year subscription money.

I have listened to XM 6 days a week, 10 hours a day, since very early Sept 2001. I have not noticed any commercials on music channels except for the XM ads they sometimes play. The only music channels that are supposed to have non-XM commercials are 11, 21, 22, 24, 161, 173 and all those channels are FM rebroadcasts and lame anyway.

X4 on Sirius here. Plus Sirius has Margaritaville Radio..... {main reason to get Sirius}

Have not noticed any commercials on the Sirius channels, but like XM, they are on the rebroadcast channels [CNN for one]

What kind of a subscription do you guys have with sirius? When I first started out, I did the monthly subscription, just so I could have a taste of it. I loved it from the get-go. However, I have been EXTREMELY lazy and have yet to change the subscription plan to a longer time period. I should have changed it a long time ago, but if I dont know how much I have wasted, then it doesn't bother me

I could do that, but it just seems like so much to pay at one time. Do you know if you could pay the $500 in payments? Then that would be worth it.

Then you might not be aware that commercials on 'Pay radio' will be the norm eventually.

It will go the same route as cable.
