Does anyone have a pic showing the antenna "puck" in the cowl area? Id like to see it in there before I proceed, also does anyone know what the little piece of plastic in the bag with the antenna "puck" is? I "assume" (uh-oh) its some kind of strain relief but there is no mention of it in the documentation.
Thanks In Advance!
P.S. What kind of adhesive did you guys use to secure the cover back down by the hood hinge - some kind of 3M emblem adhesive or????

Hate to bug ya again B-man but Im confused about your mention in several posts about the number "2" (connectors, etc.) the "puck" I have & the ones Ive seen only have 1 cable/connector, can you clear me up on that? Hey just out of curiousity how did you figur out the was a nice nesting place for the puck under the cowl:-)
Thanks Again!

My Alpine XM interface box requires an antenna that uses 2 coax cables - 1 for satellite, the other for terrestrial signals.

I had the windshield replaced in my old Supercrew. While the tech had the windshield out, I was poking around and noticed the spot for the antenna to sit in.

Hi B-Man Thanks for the reply, now I understand about the mention of 2 coax cables. I figured you must have been in body work or something similar to have known that area was good for the antenna:-)

I just installed a sirius tuner that hooks to my pioneer head unit.
I mounted the tuner in the cubby hole behind the glove box, fit really good there!

Then ran power wire from tuner to the red wire on my head unit radio harness, The red wire only has power when the key is on. So it wont run my battery dead.
It is a bit slow coming on when i first start the truck tho, if i had hooked to the yellow, always on power wire it might work better.

Hooked ground wire from tuner to a bolt behind passenger kick panel.
Used two screws to fasten tuner into the cubby hole.

Then put antenna under cowl near wipers and ran wire in through rubber grommet on passenger side door jam.

It works pretty good, i also have a sirus sportster portable receiver, this new tuner does have better sound, than the old one with fm modulation.

I am going to use my old sportster in trucks at work.

Hopefully it will work alright with antenna mounted there.

I mounted my Sirius ant under the cowl at the top of the hood and the signal is fine throughout FL so far. The only problem I've had is the FM modulation signal, so I bought the PIE setup which should be here this week.

I hate the windshield mount my unit came with, so I'm going to see if I can flush mount the unit in the plastic cover around the dome lights. If there isn't enough room there, I'll see how hard it is to get it into the unit on the rails on the headliner. Anyone know how to remove the plastic cowl around the domelights of an '04 FX4?? Also, it should be easy to fish a wire to the A-pillar through the headliner to run the wires, correct?

You should be able to get your wires through the pillar - as to it being easy Im not sure as Ive never tried it on an F150. Glad your getting a good signal, I installed my XM antenna under the cowl last weekend & the signal is no better (or worse) then when I had it plopped up on the dash:-( Living in western NC we have lots of mountains & hillsides to contend with & the signal drops quite a bit when off the highway which I find VERY frustrating! Does anyone else in the south east have a good signal with the antenna mounted in the cowl? Im beginning to wonder if the antenna was mounted on the roof the problem would still exist?

I live in southern ontario, canada, and my sirius works fine mounted under the cowl

I am running a sirius tuner box with a pioneer deck, so maybe the tuner box works better. I dunno.
