I'm givin' up on Rain-X anti-fog...I put it on as per the directions and now the inside of my windshield stays fogged-up a lot longer than before the treatment...I don't like Rain-X anti-fog at all.

Rain X is great. As said before, rub onto a cool windshield. The "trick" that I have found is not to use the wipers - even when passing transfer trucks. The rain streaks off and I never need the wipers, I can see better without them running. Not using the wipers makes the treatment last longer and in Georgia we get a fair amount of rain. I recently added a garage to my house so that I won't have to scape ice amymore, this should help traetment life also.
I agree about the Rain X anti-fog, my interior fogged up more with it than without.

Cool

I've used the anti-fog stuff too and you-all are right. If it's not put on "just right" it tends to make things worse. I tried it a number of times and more times than not, the inside was foggy anyways. On the few times when it did seem to work, it worked great. I haven't a clue though how I might have put it on differently than all the other times???

My vote is NAY for Rain-X interior anti-fog.
I can't even get in off the windshield now.
Keep away from this product.

Marv1/Tina...

I also tried that RainX interior anti fog in our Mazda 626 a while back..that crap does not work and it completely fogged up the inside of the windows. It made things MUCH worse. I threw the rest away.

JUNK!!

I have been using their windshield wiper fluid, antifreeze version or not, and it works great. I never got around to applying it directly to my glass though. in my cobra, as long as no one is in front of me, you can practically drive in a downpour, at night with the wipers off. the only down side might be street lights, but then you only have to turn the wipers on.

I saw RainX used on Shadetree Mechanic yesterday and they used RainX cleaner before applying RainX. Does anyone know if the cleaner helps?

Rain-X works great, makes a huge difference here in South Florida during the monsoon season, when it pours every day for an hour or so.

The key to the stuff is to really clean the glass before applying. I mean REALLY clean it. Anything you leave on the glass will be sealed on the glass when the plastic coating is applied.

The way to avoid the streaks and other visual issues is to really buff off the excess with a towel. It takes some elbow grease. But that will remove the "film" and prevent streaks. Changing wiper blades every 3 months during the rainy season also helps, you're using them every day...every 6 months, otherwise. They do wear out, folks.

Has anyone tried Rain-X in the cold north? Will it stop the snow from sticking? Will it stop the snow from freezing on the windshield after you stop with a warm windshield and as it cools off will the melted snow run off or freeze? :santa:

Arrow RainX rules

Just bought a '05 Magnum (I know its a Dodge), but the protector package inside and out is awsome! I believe they used some type of RainX product on the whole car as water beads up on everything like RainX!
My local car wash now offers "Whole car application" of RainX. It has a semicicle spray bar at the end of the cycle to apply then dry.
I am going to try this out with my '97 F150 tonight!
Will let people know how it works.

I use Rain X even when not in the rainy season to make it easier to clean the bugs off the windshield!

I use RainX on my windshield and isinglass on my boat. When I am in the ocean with the spray, the water runs right off of the glass. Barely have to use wipers.

I used to use Rain-X on my vehicles...Until I discovered car wax. Rain-X is a pain and will streak horribly if not taken off correctly. However, I've found that Meguiar's Cleaner-Wax is much easier to use, works as well if not better, and lasts much longer. Here 20 miles north of Florida, on the coast of GA, we get plenty of rain all year long. I usually wash my truck weekly of bi-weekly. I've only had to wax the windshield about every 6 months to keep up the water shedding capabilities. LOL, and check it out.

Talking Whole car Rain-X

Did the whole truck with it atthe car wash and all I can say is "HOLY BAT POOP" IT WORKS! As advertised even!
My whole truck now "beads" up when wet.
Sure it cost $28.00 for the wash, but it should last a couple of months.

That is what I was thinking. In fact I believe that rain-x is just basically automotive wax. I think I am going to go over my windows with the cleaner wax as well.

I use the Rain-X treatment you add to the windshield fuild reservoir. Works great and applies Rain-X everytime I hit the windshield wiper fluid button.
