No need to get bent. We's just having a (spirited) discussion is all. It's OKAY to have different points of view, aight?

Hey.... I resemble that remark.

I'm not being confrutational... but I'm simply pointing out (as George W. would say) "untruths". I personally like the V6 motor. Cant say I'd own one after having a 2005 5.4L and a 2002 4.6L but I'm sure that the 2004+ V6 would eat my 2002 4.6's ***.

I aint bent man. It is ok to have different views as long as everyone is trying to gang up on me. I get it. its immature to race. i got it. it was like 3am, no one is out and its a secluded road. i wasn't drinkin either. and my top speed is about 80 cause i hit my limiter and its not that fast just quick acceleration. I put the thread was over cause that seems like thats all ya'll wanna talk about. but it can be over i just wanted to share my original post.

I miss mine as well. I had a beautiful MWB 2005 Lariat Ext. Cab with the 5.5' bed in 2wd. I stupidly sold it and replaced it with a Supercrew XLT 4x4 2002. God... what I would do for my Lariat back.

Yeah thats how i felt for the longest time about my 98 5.4, and still sometimes.
I decided not to worry about it anymore. Just gonna build the **** out of what i got and hold on to it until it dies. lol It's funny someone mentioned PI heads up there. I'm lookin for a set to come around. my non pi block, with pi heads will raise my compression and hopefully put me over 300 by a pretty decent margin. I've heard 60-70hp gain. That eases the pain of me giving away my 98 5.4 for 2500..sorta.

Hey.

that was me.

And the PI upgrade was more than just heads:

" ...upgrades which included cylinder heads with improved port and combustion chamber designs, a more aggressive cam profile, and improved intake manifolds . This upgrade was known as the PI (Performance Improved) package."

As such the spec went from 220 HP / 265 TQ, to 231 HP / 293 TQ ( at the crank, BEFORE factoring in the ~25-30% driveline loss)

So - you'll have to walk me through the math, because I don't think 300 HP is achieveable with a head swap on the 4.6 with yer current mods.

Perhaps an engine guru could help me here? Fatherford? TJ? Jbrew? GLC? What would he have to do to get 300 @ the crank, all motor?

Thanks!

I'm an ***! But I wanna learn, so I can be a SMART*** !

I am going to show my ignorance and lack of knowledge here. What does the "pi" stand for ?
