0-60 times?
so today i got bored and with my truck only having about 3-4 gallons of gas left i desided to time my 0-60. all my mods are in my sig. my truck did 0-60 in 12 seconds flat...is that bad for a 6,000lbs truck with a lil 4.6L just wondering what other peoples are so i can compare a lil bit.

12 seconds isnt bad for a 6000Lbs truck. but i dont see how yours is 6000Lbs. maybe i mis-understood what your truck is? but the 4.6L is not a good choice for a 6000Lbs truck on ford's part. i have seen the 4.6 stock doing about 10 seconds and the 5.4 does about 7 at the lowest stock. i test drove a 06 f150 ext cab 4x4 with the 4.6 and i floored it from about 35 to 60 and my 04 V6 could have blown it away easy.
my 04 f150 XL heritage(03 style) with a 4.2L V6 and a 5spd manual 2wd reg cab long bed with K&N cold air intake only went 9.58 seconds. i could have gotten it quicker i think if i launched better but maybe only 9.3 seconds. i have a video of it on youtube going to 100 and also the 9.58 0-60.
i no longer have it, i got a 08 f150 XL shortbed V6 stick and its geared lower and i havent gotten on it but i think its gonna be slower because of the gearing.
i dont know the 08's gearing(has towing package) but i found the order sheet for my 04(no towing package). the gearing was 3.08 and 1st topped at about 40mph, 2nd-65mph, 3rd 90mph, i dont know 4th or 5th but i had it to about 105mph. the 0-60 of the 4.2L V6 is 10.2 seconds stock, the intake adds a lot of power to the 4.2L and the gas mileage is pretty impressive. went from 18.9mpg average, to 19.9 with a K&N drop in filter to 22.9 with K&N 77 series intake. and the intake also sounds SOOOO much better when you get on it. it sounds like a small V8. and also it made my V6 be able to kick the rear end out about a foot while shifting into 2nd and spin tire for about a quarter of a second. and my 04 weighed 3800 or 3900 LBs
just found a printout i had out of 37 pages of 0-60 and 1/4 mile times from a website. website is mostly cars but has few trucks on it. it had an 04 f150 4.6L at 9.9 0-60 and 17.4 1/4 mile but it does not say the details of the truck.

i have been trying so hard to find 0-60 times of different trucks but all i can find are the fast trucks like the lightning and srt-10. i found a site a while back that has a huge list of cars with some trucks on it. but i want to know trucks. i guess the only way would be to look themup in motor trend and car and driver and stuff but you wouldnt get times for say different engines in the trucks. for example you would get 0-60 with the 5.4 but not the 4.6 and the 4.2 and you might get the times of a ext cab 4x4 but not a 2wd reg cab shortbed. and the gearing would be different too since all companies offer different gearing with different engines and different weights and trims. so you'd have a big range of times. in your truck the 4.6 might do 12 seconds but in a reg cab shortbed 2wd it might do 8seconds. that is the one thing that sucks about trucks, so many combinations. cars have 1 or 2 engines usually and have same gears and tranny in all of them.
