Server Too Busy...

I have been getting the "SERVER TOO BUSY" message quite a bit lately. I was wondering if f150online had any plans to up available useage for members.

Specifically, it says this...

" vBulletin Message
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."

I'm very loyal to f150online versus the 'other' f150 boards... I just want to be able to get in and participate and gather information. I know only so much bandwidth exists however, I just wanted to bring it to someone's attention if they weren't aware that it was happening.

Thanks.

I would assume that the majority of the times that I have experienced the 'SERVER TOO BUSY' message have been 'peak hours' (ie 7-10 pm EST and 8-10am EST) however, it's very sporadic.

I've cleared my cache to assure that it's not loaded in the files for a quick view.

Just very frustrating to see the 'SERVER TOO BUSY' message...

Like I said, just thought I'd bring it to the surface in case someone wasn't aware of it.

WEBMASTER, you out there? Have any thoughts/ideas?

THANKS!!

Today alone, I have had at least 15-25 episodes with the server too busy message.

Happened mainly around 1255-1300 EST.

WHAT IS THE DEAL!!!?

Why no answer from the 'powers that be'. HEEEEELP!

Because the "powers that be" are working to diagnose and fix the problem and do not know exactly what is causing it. For the most part, the problem clears itself up after a few minutes, so please be patient. One rule of thumb, do not click reload 500 times when you see the message, as others are likely doing the same exact thing. Wait a couple of minutes and try again.

That's what I'm doing man. I'm computer savvy enough to know that I'm only complicating the problem by f5'ing the hell out of the site.

I'm sorry. I Didn't mean to sound like a smarta$$ in the earlier post.

I love this site and truly appreciate it. It beats everything else that is available out in the FORD TRUCK internet site wold HANDS DOWN! The other Ford Truck site has NOTHING on this site.

Thanks for a kick butt site.

Better yet, check your browser's security settings. More than 5000 people have successfully viewed the 2004 spy pics since I posted them last week. Those that had problems viewing them (that I communicated with) had problems because their broswer's security settings were too high.

On an unrelated, related note. The site will be down for about an hour tomorrow morning around 10am ET so we can re-sync the mirrored drive. (which was removed last week when the server went kablooie for no reason)

Steve,

Just a quick update....

No 'Server Too Busy' notices in several days.

Thanks for the assistance and again, I didn't mean to sound like a jerk in that third post...

Webmaster,
I got the message below three times in a ten minute period around 7 to 7:10 or so tonight. I went to a couple of other sites in between tries, then came back the forth time and all was well with the world, I got in. Didn't seem like a very large amount of users on once I got here.
Just thought you might like to know.

John

Steve,

I hate to dredge this back up but, I recieved the 'SERVER TOO BUSY' message again today.

I just wanted to bring it to your attention. The problem lasted for about 5 minutes (I attempted to re-logon approximately every 2.5 mins) around 3:20pm EST 2/27/2003.
