Well I tuned it up and it still dies after startup???

New plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, cap, rotor, air filter, front shocks....and it still dies after start up, only happens when you first start it for the day then runs fine after that ( well not really a good idle but) I'm leaning towards a vaccum leak or 02 sensor (but the check engine light is not on)

also the windshield washer cleaner quit working I think there's a bad connection where the clip connects to the resevoir any Ideas on that would also be appreciated.
Oh yeah

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with my 5.0 again. Now, instead of only happening for the first start up of the day, it happens twice.

A bad o2 sensor won't affect how it runs, just gas milage. A vacuum leak would cause a bad idle but it will still run fine while driving, that might be something to look for. When it idles does the rpm seem to fluctuate? Could be a bad IAC motor, could also be carboned up valves.

Get a DVOM, digital volt ohms meter.

The washer pump may have a bad connection. Look for greenish stuff - corrosion- at the contacts. Check for voltage at the connector to. If you have voltage their, 12ish, the wires are good, pump bad.

The stalling,
My 93 surges at start-up and has died a couple times if, and only if, I have the AC or defrost on. I'm almost sure its the alternator can't keep up during the warm-up cycle, but haven't changed it yet. Immediately after start up your volts should be 14ish.

I wondered about the Iac, but I am not sure where it is. There is a diagram on the underside of the hood, but it's not listed??? carboned up valves...crap that sounds serious, what do I do for that???

Now that the weathers cooling off, I've noticed a difference in start up. The past three days the morning temp has been in the 30's, and my truck hasn't dies after startup. When the weather was warm, like clockwork, it would die every time, so the outside temp obviously is affecting mine. (I have changed the air charge temp sensor about four months ago.)

Nope, check engine light never came on. (I know the bulb's good, comes on briefly on startup) I'll take it to AutoZoze tomorrow to get it checked out. Definitly is starting MUCH better in this cooler wearther.

I wonder if your coolant temp sensor has gone bad. If I remember correctly, when they go bad, the computer thinks the engine is -40F .

If my temp sensor went bad, wouldn't my gauge be giving me a bogus reading? Well, I went to Autozone yesterday and they had no idea. So, I drove accross the street to Advance Auto, spent 15 minutes there, and they couldn't figure it out...driving me crazy! I really don't feel like spending money to replace every sensor, because it always ends up being the last one you replace, if it's even a sensor at all.

die

Try cleaning the throttle body and the idle bypass valve. This
normally fixes the problem. When I worked at lincoln mercury we did that quite often.

I don't know whether or not the your 93 might have the same problem but the 87-91 models had a really bad problem with the catalytic converters getting extremely hot and somehow affecting the O2 sensor which caused the computer to lean out the fuel to the point it would shut it off but if this is only happening at startup I don't know.

No. The ECM determines temp from the ECT (Engine Coolant Temp) sensor, whereas the gauge uses a different temp sending unit.

Just out of curiosity, have you checked to see how fast your fuel pressure bleeds down after you turn the key off?
