Ok, this pisses me off!! This is it! It's gone! I was going to go to a rodeo, got in my truck, NOTIHNG, no sound, nothing, battery was dead. Ok that's fine, my moms minivan is here so i took it. But this pisses me off!!! Damnit!

 

You just got a new alternator right? How many amps is it?
Since your truck is an XLT(power everything) your going to have to have atleast a 130 amp.

 

I think he only has an 80 amp.

 

did you test for a draw?? Disconnect the neg terminal from the battery (battery needs to be charged) and place a stablight between the post and clamp. I usually touch the post and clamp once the light is connected just to get rid of any unwanted power. If the light lights up, you have a draw. I would then start pulling fuses till the light goes out. Once the light goes out, you found the circuit the draw is in.

 

The guage had been goin wacky the past two days, so i'm sure its the alt again, the alternator was fine as far as keepin it charged until the other day I'm goin to o reillys now, if they **** me off they better watch out.

 

beware of reman. alternaters they suck *** ive replaced up to six on one customers car and had to pay for the tow every time when i replaced mine in my truck i did it 3 times cause they ****ing suck good luck on finding the problem so from now on i only use new it might cost a little more but the lack of headache(spell) and aggrivation and customers thinking your a rip off artist is worht the price

 

I know, i had one reman and i said **** it. I'm not messin with those pieces of ****. 2 weeks it was done, i bought a new one and it's been doin fine ever since. It was my battery, had bad cell.

 

I've never had a reman go bad on me yet, just make sure that the battery is fully charged before you hook it up.
