Mike Lewis,

105 is only an estimate. I have 35" tall tires, compared to 29" stock. My speedometer said I was doing 85. So maybe it was more like 102 or 103. I know these trucks have speed governors, but my computer only thinks I'm doing 85 since that's what the speedo says. I know when my speedometer says I'm doing 65, I'm really doing about 80. Me any my brother were driving side by side on the freeway and I called him on his cell phone and asked him what his speed was. He has a completely stock '01 Acura Integra so I figure his speedo is pretty accurate. He said he was doing 80 while my gauge indicated 65. And I know my speedo is off by a constant factor, so the faster I'm going, the more my speedomter is off. It's not "always off by 5 or 10 mph".

But the intake manifold and the pulleys really helped out at high speeds. I think if I still had my 56mm throttle body in, I could go a couple miles an hour faster. But in addition the the aforementioed two, I've got a K&N FIPK, headers, a high-flow cat, 3" exhaust, a flowmaster muffler and my engine only has 20,000 on the rebuild. But this is on flat land with no wind. If I'm going uphill or into the wind, forget about it! My friend has a 1990 F-150 4x4, 302, AOD tranny, basically the same truck I have but red and bone stock with the exception of flows and a drop-in K&N air filter. We were driving side by side on the freeway and he decided he would try and lose me. Well, before too long he was a distant vehicle in my rear view mirror. I know his speedo is pretty accurate and he said he hit a wall once he got up to almost 85 mph. He couldn't go any faster. Meanwhile, I was building a pretty big gap between us doing about 100. I'd like to see what my truck would feel like with 31's back on it! But I think my hard driving days are over for a long time....

I can go way over 85 I have pegged the needle ont the little stand off (95mph) for a good 30 seconds or more and the truck was still pulling as hard as ever. My friend in his Infinity topped out at 108 and I was still pulling on him till I was about 15 truck lengths ahead. I was probably goin about 115
