My trucks getting there...one more prob.
My truck is finally starting to run good...But i have one more nagging problem. It has to do with the front brakes. (i think) The problem is: when i brake it feels like the drivers side front wheel is almost bouncing off the ground. The truck also pulls to the left when braking. These symptoms seem to be aggrivated while braking down an incline, or during heavy braking. I can also hear an audible noise while this is happening. Does this sound like a warped rotor? Or something else? Its hard to tell if the pedal is pulsing or not, but it does feel like it is pulsing a little.
thanks alot,

On my 93 (think yours is same) it was quite a project. But, if you think of it as a regular rear drive front brake job(hub, bearings, spindle) you can do it. You'll need the big socket(tabs on it) that loosens/tightens the bearings. Maybe an air hammer or bf chizel and bf hammer will be needed to get spindle and rotor off.
Rotors and pads are cheap. Consult Alldata if you can or check a manual.

You do NOT need to take spindle off to get the rotor off. the only reason the spindle would have to come off is if you needed to get the axle out:which you dont.
If you take the wheel bearing nuts off the rotor will slide right off the spindle.

Yep, you don't have to take the spidle off. I recently did my u-joint and brakes at the same time. Also recently worked on a 98 Suburban 2500 4x4, which everything has to come off. What a nightmare. Well, its all bleeding together now. Oh no.
my bad.
I'll stand in the corner now.

Does keystone ford have a web site?
I'm kinda leary to use drilled rotors...i've heard they crack and warp pretty easy.
I did get the hood open
...look at my hood post to see how.
thanks,
scott

Keystone is a wholesale thing. They print catalogs, but don't give prices so the retailer can fix their own prices using Keystone wharehouse. You have to find a company or truck accs. store that retails w/ them. I have 2 near where I live, the owner is pretty cool and lets me argue pricing with them.
