supercharged truck update! flowmaster 40 vs s44 vs s10

Alright got headers on supercharger on and an offroad H pipe and got my computer back from tuning. Now I can't decide what flowmaster muffler I want. I'm looking at tje original 40 and the super10 I'm running 2.5 in. Exhaust pipe I plan on dumping the exhaust right after the mufflers. Im looking for loud but a nice sound. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks scott

I have a 40 on my '79 dually with it turning out in front of the passenger side rear. Pretty good sound, but that is carbed without duals.

Go with the Super 40. It sounds more powerful IMHO. You didn't mention the Super 44, but that is the loudest of them all. Also, Flowmaster recommends having at least 12' of pipe after the muffler(s).

That's the set up I have now sounds qreat its quite while crusing but loid as hell at wot. I love the higher pitch aound of the original 40 but now I'm thinking the super 10 would be way to loud with an o/r H pipe

flowmaster 40 rear axle dump

I have a 5.8 with a flowmaster 40 that dumps right before the rear axle. I also had my cat removed. It isn't the loudest ever but its definitely noticeable, sounds beautiful and doesn't drone going down the highway.

I agree that the 10 would probably be too loud. It's so close to a straight pipe, you wouldn't be able to hear anything else. Maybe get super 40's and run cutouts when you're feeling a bit obnoxious? Haha. Have you decided on a setup yet?

This is what I'm thinking. O/r or hi flow catted H pipe with electric cutouts dumped after a set off flowmaster super 44s. Should sound pretty mean

I agree, should sound good. I'd just run the offroad H though! Does your county emission test or just run the OBD? And make sure to get stainless steel cutouts if you go that route. They cost more but are a lot less likely to seize up over time. Truck's gonna sound sick!

With a supercharged motor I'd stay away from a chambered muffler like flow master and go with a straight flow through design.....like borla, magna flow, bassani, obx....

Ahhh! Good thought 88, that never even crossed my mind. Supercharger with headers on top of that are gonna like the better flow.

Just an H pioe would be too loud lol. We don't have any testing here in Jefferson county to get inspection

You have a good point flowmasters dint flow for sh but sound really good. I've seen a guy run them with an X pipe in his Kenne Bell foxbody.

Well I did mean an offroad H with mufflers! I should've clarified that haha. But definitely mufflers, but cutouts before the mufflers if you want it really loud every once in a while. And good thing on your county, you're basically free to do whatever you want haha
